This collection captures intergenerational knowledge transfer, as elderly nomads from the Amdo Zangkar area share their experiences with traditional early childhood education with local children. The elders also introduce the children to family-based and region-related cultural customs prior to the beginning of the school year. 

Traditional early childhood education in this pastoral area encompasses five forms: child-rearing methods, children’s games, folktales, riddles and folk songs.
