At the Repgong Tamshé Seminar, scholar Khagang Tsöndrü, described the extreme challenges he faced while writing the first history book of Khagang Village. There were no surviving written records about the village, and so he personally visited local elders in order to have a glimpse of the past. Therefore, he stressed how important and challenging it was to have this gathering of elderly from different parts of Repgong. He is thrilled that people gathered to discuss the unwritten histories of other villages and record them, as well as how to preserve declining traditions and customs, particularly how to introduce and make the new generation of young people aware of their importance.
