In the past, the tradition of narrating and singing ballads was popular among youth, and was a way of indirectly and ritualistically expressing both good and bad emotions. Tsangmo is a type of song used to express an individual's emotions, conveying their inner warmth and affection to another person, through numerous lyrical melodies. Despite having several categories of Tsangmo, the present one is classified as a befriending tsangmo, as per the Bhutanese cultural typology. It expresses to the listener that two people are destined to be together. The author wanted to meet her destined lover in the ocean, despite being at the other side of it.
