Video Overview
A week before the cham, tantric practitioners gather in the temple to pray and make vases full of mani pills. The first dance is the Norbu Gakhyil for which they line up in the temple, holding parasols, victory banners, shell horns, and cymbals. Elders line up holding the mani pill vases, after which come the parasol holders, victory banners, shell horn blowers and cymbal players. They proceed toward the performance ground, where the Norbu Gakhyil symbol is painted on the ground. They follow the painted lines and circle once in the middle before walking back into the temple. There are so many tantric practitioners that the ones in front have already finished their performance while those at the back yet to come out of the temple.
