The Hor States

Hor as an ethnonym refers to populations of Turkic origin (CS 147), and its application to an area of Cultural Tibet suggests may be descendents of originally Turkic populations that were later Tibetanized. While the main such areas are found in the broader region of Kham, one also finds extensive such populations in far western Tibet (Ngari), evidently a result of historical migrations from the east.
