Children's felt shoes

Chinglham is a type of shoe that were regularly worn by men and women across Tibet. It is made of felt, which is why it is called Chinglham--ching means felt, and lham means shoe. Felt is made by applying water to fleece, pressing and rolling it over and over. Felt shoes have a style similar to leather shoes, but they are softer. If they get wet they hold a lot of water and lose shape quickly. Yet, due to their warmth they remain popular.
