Secondary somatosensory cortex (S2)

The secondary somatosensory cortex receives input from the primary somatosensory cortex. It is located in the lower parietal lobe and has bilateral input unlike the primary somatosensory cortex. Lesions to the secondary somatosensory cortex lead to deficits in touch discrimination.
