Video Overview
Karpola from Bongo Gewog (county) in Chukha district, narrates a story on the reason why a wolf has a black face. He narrates this story through the characters of one rich and one poor boy. A dispute between the two boys made the poor boy request the wolf to negotiate between them. But the wolf was delayed and when asked why he was late he replied it was because he had crossed a burning river which made his face black. Such stories usually do not have any particular message or moral advice but are created simply to add some drama or tension to how and why things are the way they are.

- དཀར་པོ་ལ་ Karpolaདང་ཕུ་དུང་ཕུང་སྔོན་མོ་སྔོན་མོ་ལུ་ ཕྱུག་པོའི་བུ་གཅིག་དང་ཞན་པའི་བུ་གཅིག་ཡོད་ཡོདཔ་མས། ཕྱུག་པོའི་བུ་གཅིག་དང་ཞན་པའི་བུ་གཅིག་ཡོདཔ་ད་ ཕྱུག་པོའི་བུ་འདི་ལུ་ གླང་གཉིས་དེ་ལས་ཞན་པའི་བུ་འདི་ལུ་ བཱ་གཅིག་ཡོད་ཡོཔ་མས།Once upon a time there lived a poor boy and a rich boy. The rich boy had two oxen and the poor boy had a cow.
- དཀར་པོ་ལ་ Karpolaད་བཱ་འདི་ཡོདཔ་འབདཝ་ད་ དེ་ལས་ད་ཞན་པའི་བུ་འདི་བཱ་འདི་ཚར་སོང་ནུག། ཁོང་གཉིས་གཅིག་ཁར་ ང་བཅས་ཆུང་ཀུ་བཟུམ་སྦེ། བརྩེདམ་བརྩེད་སྡོདཔ་ད་ དེ་ལས་བཱ་འདི་ཚར་འབདཝ་ད་ཁོང་རང་གཉིས་བརྩེདམ་བརྩེད་སྡོད་སྦེ་While two of them playing, the poor boy's cow gave birth to a calf.
- དཀར་པོ་ལ་ Karpolaབཱ་འདི་ཚར་འབད་ དེ་ལས་ཨོམ་ན་ཐེན་རང་ཨོམ་ག་ར་ཨོམ་འཐུང་སྦེ་ཨོམ་འདྲང་སོང་ནུག། ཨོམ་འདྲང་འབད་དེ་ལས་ཕར་ ཕྱུག་པོའི་བུ་འདི་གིས་ གླང་གི་སྦོ་ལོ་ཁར་སོང་འབད་སྡོད་སྡོཔ་མས། ད་ཕྱུག་པོའི་བུ་གླང་འདི་གི་སྦེ་ལོ་ཁར་སོང་སྡོད་འབད་ དེ་ལས་བལྟ་མ་ཕྱུག་པོའི་བུ་འདི་གིས་ སླབ་ནུག།The calf was fed milk and he was quenched, and after sometime the rich boy went near the ox and said,
- དཀར་པོ་ལ་ Karpolaདབའེ་ང་གི་གླང་གི་བུ་ཆུང་ཨིན་མས་སླབ་སྟེ་ འ་ནི་ཨིན་ཅིག་མེན་ཅིག་ གླང་གི་བུ་ཆུང་ཨིན་སླབ་སྟེ་ དེ་ལས་ཕྱུག་པོའ་བུ་འདི་གིས་ ད་བུ་ཆུང་འདི་བདའ་ཡར་སོང་ནུག།"My ox is the father of that calf," and took the calf away.
- དཀར་པོ་ལ་ Karpolaབདའ་སོང་སྦེ་ དེ་ལས་ལམ་ཁར་ ཨ་ཞང་འམ་དང་འཕྱུདཔ་འཕྱདཔ་ཨིན་མས། ཨ་ཞང་འམ་དང་འཕྱད་འབད་ དེ་ལས་སླབ་ནུག། དབའེ་ འ་ནི་ཞན་པའི་བུ་འདི་གིས་ དབའེ་ཨ་ཞང་འམ་མ་ ད་རེས་ང་གིས་བ་གི་བོ་ཆུང་གཅིག་ཚར་ཞིནམ་དང་On the way the poor boy met with a wolf and he said, "My cow gave birth to a calf and but the rich boy took away."
- དཀར་པོ་ལ་ Karpolaད་ཕྱུག་པོའི་བུ་འདི་གིས་གཉན་མ་བཏུབ་པར་ང་གི་བོ་ཆུང་བདའ་ཡར་སོང་ཡི་སླབ་འབདཝ་ད་ ཨ་ཁྱད་མེད་ང་གི་ནངས་པ་ ཨིན་ཅིག་མེན་ཅིག་ལོ་འདི་ང་གིས་སླབ་འབྱིན་གེ་སླབ་སྦེ་ སླབ་ནུག།The wolf suggested, ''It doesn't matter; I will bring back your calf."
- དཀར་པོ་ལ་ Karpolaསླབ་འབདཝ་ད་དེ་ལས་དེ་ལས་སྟེ་ དེ་ཚེ་ཡར་སོང་ནུག་བོ་ཆུང་འདི་ཁོ་བདའ་འབད་སྦེ་ ཕྱུག་པོའི་བུ་འདི་གིས་ ཕྱུག་པོའི་བུ་འདི་གིས་ བདའ་འབག་སོང་འདི་གིས་ནངས་པ་ ཨ་ཞང་འམ་ཡར་སྡོད་སླབ་ནུག་ ཁ་རྩ་གི་ས་སྒོ་ནང་ ཁྱོད་རང་གཉིས་རང་ ཁྱོད་རང་གཉིས་ཡར་ཁ་རྩ་གི་ས་སྒོ་ནང་ཤོང་སྨ་རེ་ཟེར་སླབ་སྦེ་ ཨ་ཞང་འམ་ཡར་སོང་ནུག།Wolf told both boys to return [tomorrow] to the same place where they met, and he left.
- དཀར་པོ་ལ་ Karpolaདེ་གི་ནངས་པ་ཁ་རྩ་གི་ས་སྒོ་ནང་བསྒུགས་སྟེ་ཉིམ་ལ་བརྒལ་ཏེ་འཛུལཝ་དང་ འཐོན་ནི་མིན་འདུག་སླབ་མས་ལོ། ཨ་ཞང་འམ་ དེ་ལས་དབའེ་ཨ་ཞང་འམ་ ག་དེ་སྦེ་ལུས་སོངམ་སྨོ་ འོང་ནི་མིན་འདུག་པ་ཡ་སླབ་འབདཝ་ད་The two boys reached the place and waited for the wolf. The wolf turned up as the sun was setting.
- དཀར་པོ་ལ་ Karpolaསླབ་སྦེ་འབདཝ་ད་ དཔའ་དེ་བཟུམ་གྱི་བློ་མ་སླབ་མས་ ང་ཆུ་མེ་ཚིགས་ཚིགཔ་པའི་ཐལཝ་བརྒལ་མ་ཚུགས་པར་ ཆུང་ཀུ་ན་ཉེདཔ་ཉེདཔ་མེན་ སླབ་ནུག་ཁ་ནང་གདོང་ ད་རེས་འམ་ ཁ་དང་གདོང་གནགཔོ་ འགྱུར་མི་འདི་འ་ནི་ཨིན་ལོ། འམ་ཟེར་ནོར་ཅུང་མི་ཤེསཔ་འོང་ འ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།Two them asked the wolf why he was late. The wolf answered that it was because it is difficult to cross the river which got burned by a fire. Because of that reason, the wolf has a black face. You may not know what is wolf. Only this much.
