A collection of 100 folktales from Dartso County and Ba County in Qinghai Province.

With globalization and cultural diffusion, most local traditions are becoming endangered and disappearing rapidly. Especially Tibetan local folktales are forgotten and younger generations are only interested in modern movies and novels. Therefore, I want to save and preserve those endangered Tibetan traditional folktales--they may provide good source material for Tibetan cartoons and movies, and they can then use the folktales in modern ways to educate the next generations of Tibetan people. We looked for participants from nomadic areas of Tsolho Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture to collect 100 different folktales. Thus, the participants from nomadic areas will tell very different styles of folk tales which are usually related nomads on the Tibetan plateau.
