The story of Azhi (Queen) Nangsa is a popular legend in Bhutan and Tibet, and is told in a series of segments. This particular song acts as an introduction to Azhi Nangsa, and describes how she was watching the annual festival when the King noticed her. As Azhi Nangsa was extremely beautiful, the King sent his attendant to find out more about her. Some women told the attendant that she is from Rignang region and her name is Nangsa Yoed Bum.
