The Wa Wa song is popular in Haa and neighboring areas. Women from Dogar gewog in Paro performed the song here. The verses of song describe the auspicious day of celebration for the birth of three Kagyu Mamas, who are the sons of Aum Naro Gyalmo from Punakha district. These three Lamas are Ngawang Namgyal (the founder of Bhutan), Drukpa Kinley (the divine mad man) and Ngawang Chojey (Drukpa Kinley's cousin-brother). The celebration seems grand, with libation materials such as pots and gourds made from gold, and making offerings to the deities of the three realms.
