Pasang Tsering, a Yarlung resident, presents one of the triad of famous Yarlung-area stupas and the mountain top behind it. The mountain top is one on which Nyatri Tsenpo, the first emperor of Tibet, is renowned to have first descended from the heavens.

  • པ་སངས་ཚེ་རིང་ Pasang Tsering
    ངའི་རྒྱབ་ལོགས་ལ་ཡོད་པའི་རི་འདིའི་མིང་ལ་ཐོ་ཐོ་རི་ཟེར་གྱི་ཡོད་རེད་ཟེར།
    The name of the mountain behind me is called Totori.
  • ཐོ་ཐོ་རི་འདི་ཡིན་ན་དང་པོ་གཉའ་ཁྲི་བཙན་པོ་ཡིན་ན། འོ་རི་འདིའི་སྟེང་ནས་མར་ཕེབས་པ་དང་།
    According to legend, the first Tibetan king, Nyatri Tsenpo came down from that mountain.
  • རི་འདིའི་གཤམ་གྱི་ལྟ་གཞོགས་གཡོན་ངོས་ཕྱོགས་འདའི་ཡཱ་ན་ཁ་ཆེན་པོ་ཞིག་ཡོད་རེད།
    On the left side of the mountain, there is one big green meadow.
  • རྩེད་ཐང་ན་ཁ་ཟེར་བྱས་བྱས།
    It is called Tsétang Naga.
  • འདིའི་སྒང་ལ་བྱིས་པ་རྣམས་རྩེད་མོ་བརྩེས་བྱས་བསྡད་པའི་ཐོག གློ་བུར་དུ་ལྟ་ཡར་ནས་མར་ཕེབས་བྱས་འདི་འདྲས་སེ་བྱོན་ཡོད་བཱ་ཟེར།
    When Nyatri Tsenpo suddenly came down from the mountain, some local kids were playing in the meadow at the time.
  • ཨཱ་ནི་བྱིས་པ་རྣམས་རྩེད་མོ་རྩེ་བྱས་འདི་འདྲས་སེ་གློ་བུར་དུ་ཕེབས་ཙང་། ཨཱ་ནི་ཁྱེད་ནི་ང་ཚོའི་རྗེ་པོ་ཡོང་བ་འདུག་གས་སེ་བྱས་བྱས་ཕར་བཀའ་འདྲི་ཞུ་དུས་ཙམ་ལ།
    When he suddenly appeared in front of the kids, they asked him if he could be their king.
  • འདིར་གཉའ་ཁྲི་བཙན་པོས་ཀྱང་ཨཱ་ནི་ངས་རྗེ་པོ་ཡོང་བ་འདུག་གས་སེ་བྱས་བྱས་ཕར་བཀའ་འདྲི་གནང་བྱས།
    In reply, Nyatri Tsenpo asked them whether he fit to be their king.
  • དེ་དུས་ཙམ་ལ་བྱིས་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཡིན་ནའི་ཨཱ་ནི་ཡོང་ང་ཞེས། ང་ཚོའི་རྗེ་པོ་ཡོང་ང་བྱས་ནས་ཨཱ་ནི་ལ་མ་ཡི་ཁྲི་བརྒྱབ་པ་དང་།
    They replied to him that he fit to be their king. They then built a throne made from blocks of grassy earth.
  • འདི་འདྲས་སེ་བྱས་བྱས་ཨཱ་ནི། འོ་ཁྲི་ལ་མངའ་གསོལ་པ་དང་། འདིའི་རྗེས་ལ་ཡིན་ན་ལྟ་གཉའ་ཁྲི་བཙན་པོ་འདི་ནས་ལྟ་ཡུལ་མི་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་གཉའ་ལ་བརྒྱབ་བྱས།
    They then enthroned Nyatri Tsenpo on it. Later, the local people carried him on their shoulder in a throne.
  • ཨཱ་ནི་ལྟ་ཕོ་བྲང་ཡུམ་བུ་བླ་སྒང་ལ་གདན་འདྲེན་ཞུས་པ་རེད་ཟེར།
    And they took him to the Yumbu Lagang palace.
  • ཨཱ་ངའི་མདུན་གྱི་གྲོང་ཚོ་འདི་ཡིན་ན་རྩེ་ཐང་གུ་ཤྲི་ཟེར་ཡག་གི་འདི་རེད། ལྟ་དེང་སྐབས་ཡིན་ན་ལྟ་མི་ཚང་མང་པོ་ཆགས་བྱས་འདི་འདྲས་སེ་བཱ།
    The village in front of me is called Tsétang Gushri. Nowadays, there are many households in that village.
  • ཨཱ་ད་ག་ནང་བཞིན་གྱིས་ངའི་རྒྱབ་ལོགས་ལ་ཡོད་པའི་བུམ་པ་འདི་ཡིན་ན་ཡར་ཀླུང་རྟེན་གསུམ། གནས་གསུམ། ཕུག་གསུམ་གྱི་ཡ་གྱལ་རྩེད་ཐང་ལ་གནས་པའི་ཚེས་བཅུ་བུམ་པ་ཟེར་ཡག་འདི།
    There are three sacred adobes, three sacred sites, and three caves found in Tséthang region. The stupa behind me is called Tséchu Bumpa, and it is one of the sacred sites.
  • ཡར་ཀླུང་ཤེལ་གྲགས་ཀྱི་རི་གཤམ་དུ་གནས་ཡོད་ཟེར།
    They are located here below the Yarlung Sheldrak mountain.
  • ཨཱ་ནི་འདི་ཡིན་ན་ལྟ་བོད་ཟླ་དང་པོ་དང་། འདི་འདྲས་སྐབས་ཡིན་ན་མང་ཙམ་ཞིག་བསྐོར་ར་རྒྱག་ཡག་དང་།
    During the first month of the Tibetan lunar calendar and other important days, a lot of people will circumambulate the stupa.
  • བོད་ཟླའི་ཚེས་པ་བཅུ་ལ་མང་ཆེ་བ་ཡིན་ན་ཚེས་པ་བཅུ་དེ་ལ་བསྐོར་ར་རྒྱག་ཡག་མང་པོ་ཡོད་ཟེར།
    Especially on the tenth day of a Tibetan lunar calendar, many more would do the same.
  • བསྐོར་ར་རྒྱག་པའི་སྐབས་ལ་ཡིན་ན། ལོ་གྲངས་བསགས་པ་དང་། ཡང་ན་གསུམ་ཙམ། ལྔ་ཙམ།
    During the circumambulation, some would circumambulate the stupa as many time as their age. Others will circumambulate three or five times.
  • དེ་འདྲས་ལྟ་སོ་སོའི་གོམས་གཤིས་ལ་གཞིགས་ནས་ཨཱ་ནི་ལྟ་བསྐོར་ར་བསགས་ཡག་འདི་འདྲས་སེ་བཱ་ཟེར། བྱས་བྱས་དེ་འདྲས་སེ་ཡིན།
    It all depends on individual preference. That's all.
