Tandin from Bongo Gewog (county) in Chukha district, sings various categories of tsangmo (ballad) songs. It is a form of ballad which is sung with different tunes. It can be in various genres such as happy tsangmo, love tsangmo, sad tsangmo, enmity tsangmo and friendly tsangmo. During the old days people used to express and share their feelings through tsangmo, it was a means for them to communicate with each other. They sang tsangmo when they worked in the field or during any leisure time. However now such traditions are replaced by modern technologies and it is practiced no more. Now tsangmo is conducted as competitions among students to prevent its decline.
