Video Overview
The people of Chhimoong Gewog depend solely upon their agricultural products. They protect their crops from wild animals by setting traps. After making such a trap they keep it tied to a log. First they tie the piece of log and set it properly. Then the loop for the animal's neck should be hidden. The area, such as the grass around the trap, should remain as untouched as possible. Finally the rope is hidden with dry grass. When triggered, the log will get hooked or locked between the trees and the animal, such as a wild board, will die there. Nowadays only few people still practice this old method since many now enclose their fields with electric fences.
སྤྱིར་བཏང་གི་ འབྲུག་གི་རྒྱལ་ཁབ་ནང་གི་མི་སེར་བརྒྱ་ཆ་བདུན་ཅུ་དེ་ཅིག་ འཚོ་བ་སོ་ནམ་ལུ་བརྟེན་སྡོད་མིའི་གྱལ་ཁ་ལས་ པདྨ་དགའ་ཚལ་རྫོང་ཁག་ ཕྱི་མུང་རྒེད་འོག་གི་མི་སེར་ཆ་ཁྱབ་ཡང་ སོ་ནམ་ལཱ་ལུ་བརྟེན་སྡོད་མི་ཅིག་ཨིནམ་ལས་ ཁོང་རའི་ལོ་ཐོག་ཚུ་ རི་དྭགས་སེམས་ཅན་ལས་སྲུང་ནིའི་དོན་ལུ་ ཧིང་བཀལ་དོ་ཡོདཔ་ད་ ཧིང་དེ་ཡང་ དང་པ་ར་ཤིང་སྒྲིང་སྒྲིང་ཅིག་གུ་ ཐགཔ་སྒྲིང་སྒྲིང་ཅིག་གིས་ཧིང་བཟོ་སྟེ་ ཐགཔ་གི་ཨོ་ལོང་འདི་ མ་མཐོངམ་སྦེ་སྦ་བཞག་དགོཔ་ཨིན་མས། ཏེ་རབ་བྱུང་པ་ཅིན་ ཧིང་གི་སྦོ་ལོགས་ཁ་ལས་ཕར་ རྩྭ་དང་ཤིང་གི་རིགས་ཚུ་ ཧེ་མ་ག་ཨིནམ་སྦེ་འགྱུར་བཅོས་མེདཔ་སྦེ་བཞག་དགོ་དོ་ཡོདཔ་ད་ ཐགཔ་འདི་རྩ་གི་འོག་ལུ་སྦ་བཞགཔ་ཨིན་མས། ད་རེས་ནངས་པར་ གློག་མེའི་རྭཝ་གི་འཐོན་སྐྱེད་གཞི་བཙུགས་འབད་མི་ལུ་བརྟེན་ ཧིང་གི་ལཱ་འབད་མི་རེ་རེ་གཉིས་གཉིས་ལས་མེདཔ་ཨིན་མས།
- ཆོས་སྐྱིད་དབང་ཕྱུག་ Cheki Wangchukའ་ནཱི་ཕགཔ་འདི་ འ་ནཱི་ནང་ཨ་རྟག་ར་འགྱོཝ་ འབད་ར་མ་ཚུགས། མ་པ་ལས་ར་འབད་མ་ཚུགསཔ་ལས་ འ་ནཱི་ག་ཅི་ར་འབད་རུང་ ང་བཅས་ར་འཇིག་རྟེན་མི་འབད་ནི་འདི་གིས་ ཧིང་འདི་ དེ་སྦེ་བཟོ་སྟེ།The wild boar is turning out to be very distructive. After all we are just a human so, we make trap in this way.
- ཆོས་སྐྱིད་དབང་ཕྱུག་ Cheki Wangchukཁོ་འ་ནཱི་སྦེ་ར་བཟོཝ་ཨིན་ འ་ནཱི་སྦེ་ལགས། འ་ནཱི་སྦེ་བཟོ་སྦེ་ཁོ་ འོང་ནི་འདི་ ནམ་འོང་རུང་མ་འོང་རུང་ དེ་སྦེ་བཟོཝ་སྦེ་ འ་ནཱི་ཝག་ནང་ཤིང་འདི་ ཨ་ནཱི་སྦེ་འབད་སྦེ་ ཨ་ནཱི་སྦེ་བསྡམས་བཞགཔ་ཨིན་ ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི་ལགས།After making like this whether it comes or not we keep it tied on a piece of log.
- ཆོས་སྐྱིད་དབང་ཕྱུག་ Cheki Wangchukའ་ནཱི་སྦེ་བསྡམས་སྦེ་ འ་ནཱི་འདི་སྒྲིང་སྒྲིང་འབད་རང་བསྡམ་དགོ་ ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི་ལགས་ སྒྲིང་སྒྲིང་འབད་ར་ལགས། སྒྲིང་སྒྲིང་འབད་བསྡམས་སྦེ་ ཁོ་ལུ་དྲིམ་ཚོར་བཅུག་ནི་མི་འོང་ ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི་ལགས། དེ་ལས་ དེ་སྦེ་བཞག་སྦེ་ ཁོ་གི་ཨོལ་ལྐོག་གི་ཚད་འདི་ མ་མཐོངམ་འབད་ ཤིང་འདི་ཡང་ འ་ནཱི་སྦེ་བཞག་སྦེ།We have to tie the piece of log properly. After that we don't have to set it properly. Then the loop for the neck should be hidden.

We need to hide the rope with dry grass.

Now a days there is barely anyboby killing but one or two does it only when it becomes serious. And because of the electric fence there is no need of such trap anymore.
