The local song “The Heaven” (Tenchog Lhayul) is being performed by a group of dancers from Drepung Gewog during a festival at the Yoe Temple. This zhungdra song is usually performed at festivals and has been passed down orally from generation to generation. The lyrics describe a heavenly realm, where there exists a golden lake from which a golden vessel emerges. Out of the golden vessel blooms a golden flower that will then be offered to the lama. In the face of this homage to the lama, the lyrics say, even the gods will smile.
