This is a zhungdra song “Korwa”, translated as the “circumambulate”, and is being performed here by the dancers from Drepung gewog in Mongar district during the festival at Yoe Lhakhang. It is a local song whose tradition of singing it during the rituals and celebrations continued since forefathers’. The lyrics speaks about the presence of sacred places for circumambulations such as the paradise, Chokor Lhasa and Lhodrak Kharchu blessed each by Guru Rinpoche, Shakyamuni (the Buddha) and Namkhai Nyingpo, respectively. It says one should circumambulate in such places in order to achieve consecration and accomplishments from great teachers named above. Therefore, this song is sung in the Mongar locality and particularly in front of (in the presence of) great lamas and religious monks, but not at random occasions or events. It is a zhungdra song.
