However, the real story is about why butterflies fly towards the light and end up dying. According to the story, there was once a man that used to make tam. One day while he was making a tam under the pear tree, a butterfly buzzed around his moustache and annoyed him to the point that he shooed it. This frightened a squirrel above who dropped a pear on the head of a deer that was standing beneath the tree. The infuriated deer then ran away stepping on a snake on its way. This made snake angry which caused him to eat all the eggs of a wild bird. The mother bird was upset and went to eat grains at the king’s palace. The king sent his servant to kill the bird. However, the bird pleaded forgiveness and explained the succession of facts that led to the ultimate cause of all these dramas. The butterfly felt guilty for being greedy and vanished into the fire. The story explains in this way the reason why butterflies usually fly towards the light.
