Chezom narrates a story about a hunter that illustrates the inevitability of the future. A hunter heard local spirits talking about a newborn who would one day die at the mouth of a tiger. When he arrives home, he finds it was his wife who gave birth to a son. Later his son was elected ruler and as he was journeying for enthronement, the father accompanied him, knowing a tiger was going to attack. At night a tiger appeared but the hunter managed to kill it with an arrow. Later the hunter tells his son the story, but his egotistical son kicked the tiger's corpse, saying how can such a silly animal kill him. As he kicked the dead body of the tiger, his foot hit the tiger's fang; the cut then became infected and he still died by the tiger's mouth.

དང་ཕུགས་ དང་ཕུགས་ཏེ་ ཨ་པ་ཤ་རོགསཔ་ཅིག་སྡོད་སྡོདཔ་མས། ཨཔ་འདི་ཤ་རོགསཔ་ ཨ་མ་འདི་ ཕོཝ་ནང་ཨ་ལོ་སྡོད་སྡོདཔ་མས། དེ་ལས་ ཨ་པ་ཤ་བདའ་བར་འགྱོ་བའི་ལམ་ཁར་ ཞག་ཚལ་མ་ནང་ ལུས་ལུསཝ་མས།
Long ago there lived a hunter man. Father was a hunter and mother had a baby in her stomach. While father was going to hunt an animal he left his night in the forest.

ཞག་ལུས་ཏེ་ ལོག་མ་ལྷོད་པར་ དེ་ལས་ ཕྱི་རུ་ཉལཝ་ད་ ཨཔ་དེ་ ཤིང་ཅིག་གི་རྩ་བར་ ཉལ་ཉལཝ་མས། ཨམ་ཤིང་གི་ལྷ་མོ་ ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ ང་ལུ་ སྐྱབས་མཛད་གནང་ཤིག་ཟེར་སླབ་སྟེ་ ཉལ་ཉལཝ་ཨིན་ལོ་ ཁོ་གིས།
Didn't returned; while sleeping at night he slept near a tree. It is said that, he slept seeking help from a god of tree [Shing gi lhamo] to protect him.

ད་རིས་ཞག་གཅིག་ ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ ངེ་གི་སྐྱབས་མཛད་ཅིག། ཨམ་ཤིང་གི་ལྷ་མོ་ སྐྱབས་མཛད་ཅིག་ཟེར་ དེ་སྦེ་ཉལ་སྦེ་ ནུབ་ཕྱེད་ལསནི་ བདུད་འདི་ཚུ་ སྐད་རྐྱབ་མས་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ། ཤའོ་ཤའོ་བཏང་ ང་བཅས་ར་ སྐྱེས་བའི་སྐབས་ ཁོང་ཡང་འོང་དོ་འདྲས་མེན་ན་ཏེ་ སྐྱེས་བཟང་དཔང་བཟང་འབད་བར།
Please protect me for tonight only. The god of tree protected him, he slept and in middle of night demons are shouting and saying that when a baby was born they also came to show happiness and withness.

དེ་ལས་ ཕར་ཨམ་ཅིག་གིས་ ཨ་ལོ་བུ་ཅིག་སྐྱེས་ནུག་ཟེར་ ང་བཅས་ར་ སྐྱེས་བཟང་དཔང་བཟང་ལུ་འགྱོ་གེ་ཟེར་ མི་འགྱོ་ག་ཟེར་ སྐད་རྐྱབ་མས་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ། ཁོ་གི་ཤིང་ལུ་ ཆ་རོགས་ཚུ་གིས།
Then the demon was shouting that, the mother gave birth to a baby boy and you all are not going to show happiness and withness.

ཨམ་རྡོའི་ལྷ་མོ། ཤིང་གི་ལྷ་མོ་ ག་ར་གིས་ འབོ་དོ་མས་ཏེ་ ཆ་རོགས་ཚུ་གིས་ མི་འགྱོ་ག་མི་འགྱོ་ག་ ང་བཅས་འགྱོ་དོ་སྨ་རེ། སྐལ་བ་བསྐོས་པར་འགྱོ་དོ་སྨ་རེ་ཟེར་ སྐལ་བ་བསྐོས་མི་ ཁོང་ཆ་ཁྱབ་ཨིན་པས་མེན་ན་ཏེ།
God of stone, god of tree and all the friends called to saying' don't want to go? we are going to appoint the share. They were the one to appoint the share.

སྐལ་བ་བསྐོས་པར་འགྱོ་དོ་སྨ་རེ་ ང་བཅས་ཚུ་ཟེར་ མི་འགྱོ་ག་ཟེར་ སླབ་མས་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ། ང་མི་ཁོམ་པས། ང་མགྱོནམ་ལྷོད་དེ་ཡོད་ཟེར་ སླབ་མས་ཟེཝ་མས་ལོ་ མགྱོནམ་འདི་ཨ་ལོ་ཁོ་རའི་ ཨ་པ་ཨིན་པས་ཏེ།
They went saying that, we were going to appoint the share. I am not free and said that I have a guest here but the guest was baby's father.

ང་མགྱོནམ་ཡོད། ང་འགྱོ་མི་ཚུགས་ནི་མས། ཁྱོད་ཚུ་སོང་ཞིནམ་ལས་ སྐལ་བ་ཁྱོད་ཚུ་གིས་ བསྐོས་བཞག་ད་ཟེར་ སླབ་མས་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ། དེ་ལས་ སོང་ཡི་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ་ ཁོང་ཆ་ཁྱབ་ཁུ་སིམ་སི་སྦེ།
The god of tree said that, I have a guest here and not able to go. You all can go and appoint the share. Then they all went in silent.

ལྟ་མ་ཧ་ལམ་དྲོ་པ་ཁམས་ཅིག་ཁར་ ལོག་ལྷོདཔ་མས་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ། ཅའོ་ཅའོ་བཏང་ དེ་བསྒང་ ཁོ་གི་ ཤིང་གི་ལྷ་མོ་གིས་ འདྲིཝ་མས་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ་ སྐལ་བ་ག་ཅི་ལུ་ བསྐོས་བཞག་ཅི་དགོ་ཟེར་ སླབ་མས་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ།
Later, almost in the morning they all returned as [chaw...chaw...] That time the god of tree asked them what share you have appointed?

ཤུལ་ལས་གཞོནམ་དོད་རིལ་རི་འགྱོ་བའི་སྐབས་ དཔོན་སྦེ་བཙག་འཐུ་འབད་ནི་ཨིན་པས་ཟེར་ དཔོན་སྦེ་བཙག་འཐུ་འབད་དེ་འཁྱིད་འགྱོཝ་མས། དེ་བསྒང་སེམས་ཅན་སྟག་གི་ ཁ་ནང་བསྐོས་བཞག་ཡི་སྨ་རེ་ཟེར་ སླབ་མས་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ།
Later when he grows up, we will select him as a king and they took him as a king. it is said that, that time they will leave him with the tiger.

སེམས་ཅན་སྟག་གི་བཟའ་ནི་ཨིན་པས། དེ་སྦེ་བསྐོས་བཞག་ཡི་སྨ་རེ་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ཟེར་ སླབ་མས་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ། དེ་ལས་ ཨ་པ་ལུ་ རྨི་ལམ་བཟུམ་ ངོ་མ་བཟུམ་ཤར་འོང་སྟེ་ སེམས་ཁར་ར་བཟུང་བཞག་ནུག་མེན་ན་ཏེ་ཨ་པ་གིས།
The tiger will eat. It is said that they have appoint like that. Then in the father's mind it appeared as a dream or a real and recorded in his mind.

དེ་ལས་ ཁྱིམ་ནང་འགྱོ་འགྱོཝ་མས་ དྲོ་པ་གནམ་ནངས་ཏེ་ ཁྱིམ་ནང་འགྱོ་བ་ཅིན་ ཁོ་གི་ ཨམ་སྲུ་ཨིན་པས་ལོ། ཨ་ལོ་སྐྱེས་མི་འདི་ ཨ་ལོ་སྐྱེས་ཏེ་འདུག་ཟེར་མས་ལོ་ཨམ་སྲུ།
Then, in the morning he went to his house and the women who gave birth to a baby boy was his wife.

དེ་ལས་ ཁོ་གི་ སེམས་ཁར་ལུ་ མནོ་བསམ་བཏང་སྟེ་སྡོད་ནུག་མེན་ན་ཏེ་ དེ་ལས་ ཤུལ་ལས་ བུཚ་འདི་སྦོམ་ཐལ་ནུག་ཏེ་ སྦོམ་ཐལ་ཏེ་ གཞོནམ་དོད་རིལ་རི་ཐལཝ་ད་ དཔོན་བཙག་འཐུ་འབད་བར་འོང་ནུག་ཏེ་གཞུང་ལས།
Then in his mind, he was thinking. later the boy grown up and looks big and smart, the government came to select him as a king.

དཔོན་འཐུ་བར་འོང་སྟེ་ ཁོ་གི་ བུ་དེ་འཁྱིད་འགྱོ་འགྱོཝ་མས་ཏེ་ དེ་འབདཝ་ད་ ཨ་པ་གིས་ ཁྱོད་ཉིན་ལམ་གཅིག་གི་ལམ་ཁར་ཚུན་ ང་གིས་སྐྱེལ་བར་འབག་གེ་ཟེར་ སླབ་སླབ་མས།
When they came to pick him as a king, the father took him and said that, I will reach you till a day journey.

དེ་འབདཝ་ད་ བུ་གིས་ མི་དགོ་ང་ར་རྐྱངམ་ཅིག་འགྱོ་འོང་ཟེར་ སླབ་སླབ་མས། དེ་འབདཝ་ད་ ཨ་པ་གིས་འགྱོ་དགོ། ཞག་གཅིག་འདི་ ཁྱོད་དང་གཅིག་ཁར་ཉལ་བར་འགྱོ་གེ་ཟེར་ སླབ་སླབ་ཨིན་ལོ་མེན་ན།
But the boy said that, "no i will go by myslef." But the father said that, "i have to go and one night i will sleep with you."

དེ་ལས་ ཨ་པ་གིས་ མདའ་གཞུ་ཚུ་འབག་སྟེ་ འགྱོ་འགྱོཝ་མས་ཏེ་ ཉིནམ་གཅིག་གི་ལམ་ཁར་ ཕྱི་རུ་འབདཝ་ད་ སྒར་བཅགས་བཅགསཔ་མས་ཏེ་ དང་ཕུགས་ སྣུམ་འཁོར་གྱི་ལམ་མེད་ག་ནི་ཡང་མེད་ ལམ་འགྱོ་སྟེ་འགྱོ་དགོཔ་སྡོད་སྡོདཔ་འདྲས་མེན་ན་ཏེ།
Then the father went carrying bow and arrows till a day journey and at night they made a camp because long ago there was no motor roads and don't have anything and they have to go by foot.

དེ་ལས་ སྒར་བཅགས་ཞིནམ་ན་ཉལ་ཉལཝ་མས་ཏེ་ དེ་ལས་ སྒརཔ་ཚུ་ཡང་ ཉལ་ཉལཝ་མས་ཏེ་ ཨ་པ་ཁོ་ར་བུ་གི་མགུ་ཏོ་ཕྲང་སྟེ་ར་ སྒར་བཅགས་བཅགསཔ་མས་ཏེ་ཉལ་སུ།
They finished making camp and slept, Then the attendants were also sleeping stright to there head as they made a camp there.

བུ་གི་མགུ་ཏོ་ཕྲང་སྟེ་ར་ དེ་ལས་སྒར་པ་ཚུ་ ཕྱི་རུ་ཁུ་སིམ་སི་སྦེ་ གཉིད་ཐལ་ཐལཝ་མས་ཏེ་ ཁོ་རའི་ བུ་གི་མགུ་ཏོ་ཁར་ར་ ཁོ་ར་ཉལ་ཉལཝ་མས། དེ་ལས་ ཁོང་ཆ་ཁྱབ་གཉིད་ལོག་སོང་ནུག། ཨ་པ་དེནི་གཉིད་ལོག་མ་བཏུབ་པས་ཏེ།
Stright to his son's head all the attendants was in silent sleep and he slept on his son's head. Then all of them are in sleep but the was not feeling sleppy.

དེ་བསྒང་ བྱི་ཙི་གཅིག་འོང་མས་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ། ཚོག་ཚོག་ཚོག་བཏང་འོང་སྟེ་ འདབ་མ་ཅིག་འཐུཝ་ཅིག་ ཁོ་གི་བུ་གུ་ པཱེད་བཏང་བཀལ་བཞག་མས་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ།
That time it is said that a rat came as tshig...tshig... and picked a leaf and putted on his son.

བྱི་ཙི་གིས་འདབ་མ། དེ་ལས་ ཨ་པ་གིས་ མདའ་གི་སྦེ་འདབ་མ་འདི་ ཕཱོད་བཏང་བཀོ་བཏང་བཏངམ་མས། ད་རུང་ ལྟ་མ་ཁམས་ཅིག་ཁར་ ཚོག་ཚོག་བཏང་འོང་སྟེ་ ད་རུང་ པཱེད་བཏང་བཀལ་བཞག་མས་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ།
Then the father took out the leaf by his arrow. Again after sometime the rat came and put leaf on his son.

ད་རུང་ ཨ་པ་གིས་བཀོ་བཏང་ནུག་ ཚར་གསུམ་བཀལ་དེས་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ་ བྱི་ཙི་གིས་འདབ་མ་ ཤིང་གི་འདབ་མ་ ལྟ་མ་ཁམས་ཅིག་ཁར་ སེམས་ཅན་སྟག་ཧུང་ཧུང་བཏང་སྐད་རྐྱབ་མས་ལོ།
Again father threw them out. It is said that the rat put the leaf three times on his son. After sometime the tiger was coming as hung...hung...

ལྟ་མ་འབདཝ་ད་ ལྷོད་མས་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ། ལྟ་མ་འབདཝ་ད་ ཧོ་རོ་ཧོ་རོ་ཧོ་རོ་ར་ཟེར་ ལྷོདཔ་མས་ལོ་ ལྟ་མ་འབདཝ་ད་ ཧོརཔ་དང་བཅསཔ་སྦེ་ལྷོད་ཅི་ལོ་ རྐངམ་གི་རྩ་བར་ བུ་གི་རྐངམ་གི་རྩ་བར་ མིག་ཏོ་ར་ཀི་ལེང་ཀི་ལེང་ཀི་ལེང་ལྟ་བར།
After sometimes it was coming along with snore as hor...hor...hor... And reached near his son's leg

ཨཱ་དེ་ལས་ ཨ་པ་གིས་ མདའ་ཐེངས་ཕོག་ཅིག་རྐྱབ་བྱིན་ནུག་མེན་ན་ཏེ་ མདའ་ཐེངས་ཕོག་ཅིག་རྐྱབ་བྱིནམ་ད་ལུནི་ ཨ་ནཱ་ར་ཤི་སོང་ནུག་ཏེ་ སེམས་ཅན་ཡང་ སེམས་ཅན་དེ་ཁར་རང་ཤི།
Then the father shoot an arrow and the animal was dead there only.

དེ་ལས་ ད་རུང་རྐྱབ་སྟེ་ དེ་ལས་ དྲོ་པ་སླབ་ནུག་ ཨ་པ་གིས་བུ་ལུ་ ད་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ ང་མི་དགོ་མི་དགོ་ཟེར་སླབ་མས། ང་འ་ནཱི་གིས་སྦེ་ འོང་འོངམ་ཨིན་སྨ་རེ་ཟེར་ ཁྱོད་སྐྱེས་བའི་བསྒང་ ང་ཤིང་གི་རྩ་བར་ཉལཝ་ད།
Then again he shoot it once and in morning he told to his son that, you are telling me that you don't want me. But I came here for this because when you are born i slept near a tree;

དེ་སྦེ་སླབ་སླབ་ཨིན་ཟེར་ དེ་གིས་སྦེ་ ང་ཁྱོད་དང་གཅིག་ཁར་འོང་དགོཔ་འདི་ དེ་ལས་བརྟེན་ཏེ་ཨིན་ཟེར་ ཁྱོད་སྐལ་བ་འདི་ལུ་ བསྐོས་བཞག་སྟེ་ཡོད་པའི་ཟེར་ སེམས་ཅན་སྟག་གི་ཁ་ནང་ བསྐོས་བཞག་སྟེ་ཡོད་པའི་ཟེར་ སླབ་སླབ་ཨིན་ལོ་མེན་ན་ཏེ་ཨ་པ་གིས།
they told like that. Thats why i came here along with you. When you was born they appointed your share to be in tiger's mouth.

དེ་འབདཝ་ད་ བུ་གིས་ ག་ཅི་ཟེར་ ཁོ་ར་དཔོན་ཨིན་ཟེར་ མནོ་མནོཝ་འདྲས་མེན་ན་ཏེ་ ང་བསད་ཚུགས་ག་ ཨ་ནཱི་བཟུམ་མའི་སེམས་ཅན་གྱིས་ཟེར་ སེམས་ཅན་སྟག་གི་ ཁ་གུ་རྡོག་ཐེ་བླུགས་བྱིན་ཏེ་ ཁའི་གུ་ཕྲང་ཕྲང་རྡོག་ཐེ་གིས་ཕོག་སྟེ།
But the boy said that "why? thinking that he was a king and will he able to kill me? this kind of animal, and kicked on the tiger's mouth."

དེ་ལས་ མཆེཝ་གིས་གསོབ་བྱིན་ཏེ་ སྟག་གི་མཆེཝ་གིས་ དེ་ལས་ རྐངམ་སྦོ་སྟེ་ ཐེངས་ཕོག་ཅིག་གུ་ན་ཟུག་རྐྱབ་སྟེ་ ཤི་ཤིཝ་མས་ཏེ་ ནཱ་ལུ་ར་ དཔོན་འབད་བར་ག་ནི་ཡང་མ་ལྷོད་པར།
Then the tiger's tusk peirced on his leg and the leg was swelled and not able to resist the pain and died.

དེ་ལས་ འ་ནཱེམ་ཅིག་སྦེ་ ཡལ་ཡལཝ་་མས་ཏེ་ ད་རང་གི་ སྐལཝ་པ་འདི་ལུ་བསྐོས་ཅི་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ ག་ཏེ་ཡང་བྱོག་མི་ཐལ་ཟེར་མི་འདི་ དེ་ཨིན་པས་ཏེ་ ཁོ་གིས ་སོ་བཏབ་སྟེ་མ་བཟའ་རུང་ ཁོ་གི་མཆེཝ་གུ་གསོབ་སྟེ་ ཤི་ནུག་མེན་ན་ཏེ།
Then it disappeared and it shows thatb when time comes, nothing can stop it from happening like in the story, though tiger didn't eat him, he himself because of his karma was peirced by a tusk of tiger and died...
