The wisdom of women is the overall theme of this popular central Bhutanese story. A woman sees from afar that a bear is about to eat her husband. The woman calls upon him asking what is the "black thing" standing near him. The bear makes the man say that it is the remainder of a tree trunk. Seeing the white patch on the bear's chest, the woman asks what is the white patch on the trunk. The bear makes him say that it is a mushroom. At that point, she understands that it is the bear that keeps directing the man’s answers. She then tells her husband to cut the remainder of the tree trunk. The bear once more tries to direct the man’s responses, telling him to only pretend to be cutting the tree trunk. This time, nevertheless, the man defies the bear, striking him with his axe.

- པདྨ་དབང་འདུས་ Pema Wangdiསློབ་དཔོན་ལུ་ ད་རུང་ ཚིག་གཅིག་གཉིས་དེ་ཅིག་ཕུལ་གེ་ཟེར་ལགས། དང་ཕུ་ད་ལགས་ ཨམ་སྲུ་དང་ རྨགཔ་ཅིག་སྡོད་སྡོདཔ་མས་ལགས།For taecher again I want to offer one word or two. In olden days there lived a wife and husband.

- པདྨ་དབང་འདུས་ Pema Wangdiདེ་འབདཝ་ད་ ཨམ་སྲུ་གིས་ ག་དེ་སྦེ་འབད་ཡི་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ ཁོ་རའི་ཨམ་སྲུ་གིས་ ད་ཨ་ཙི་བསྒུགས་སྨ་རེ་ཟེརཝ་ད་ རྨགཔ་གིས་ བྱཱོ་བཏབ་ཚར་དོཝ་མས་ཏེ་ལགས། ལོག་སྟེ་ར་བྱཱོ་བཏབ་་པར་འགྱོ་འགྱོཝ་མས་ལགས།But then his wife thought that her husband might be completing his work for sowing buckwheat and went again to sow seed.
- པདྨ་དབང་འདུས་ Pema Wangdiཨ་ཙི་བསྒུགས་མས་ཟེར་ ཨམ་སྲུ་གིས་ གནས་སྐབས་བཏོན་དོ་མས་ལགས་ད་ལགས། ཨཱ་་་ཨམ་སྲུ་གིས་ ཨ་ཙི་བསྒུགས་མས། ང་ཤུལ་ལས་ ཐོན་འོང་མས་ཟེར།Wife was searching for an idea by telling him to wait for a while. Ah...wait for a while. I am going to come later.

- པདྨ་དབང་འདུས་ Pema Wangdiཨ་ནཱི་་་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་ སྦོ་ལོགས་ཁར་སྡོད་མི་ག་སྨོ་ཟེར་ སྐད་རྐྱབ་ནི་ཨིན་སྨ་རེ་ ང་གིས་ཟེར་ སླབ་སླབ་མས་ལགས། དེ་ལས་ ཁོ་ལུ་ བྱང་ཁོག་དཀརཔོ་འོང་ནི་ཨིན་སྨ་རེ་ཟེར་ ཨ་ནཱི་ བྱང་ཁོག་དཀརཔོ་ག་ཅི་སྨོ་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན།Then I will shout like that who is near you? She told to her husband. Then Then his chect will be white in colour, what is that white colour means-
- པདྨ་དབང་འདུས་ Pema Wangdiཨ་ནཱི་་་བདུད་ཀྱི་ཤ་མུ་ཨིན་ཟེར་ ཁོ་གིས་ སླབ་འོང་ཟེར་ དེ་འབདཝ་ད་ ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ ད་རུང་ ག་ཅི་སྨོ་ཟེརཝ་ད་ ཞིང་གི་ཤིང་དུམ་ཨིན་ཟེར་ སླབ་འོང་དོམ་གྱིས་ཟེར།That is demon's mushroom he will say like that but then you can again what is that while saying like that then it is log in the field bear will say like that.
- པདྨ་དབང་འདུས་ Pema Wangdiདེ་འབདཝ་ད་ ཤིང་དུམ་ཨིན་པ་ཅིན་ ང་གིས་ བཏོག་བལྟ་ད་ཟེར་ སླབ་ནི་ཨིན་སྨ་རེ་ཟེར་ སླབ་སླབ་མས་ལགས།But then, if it is log, then i will say you can see it by cutting it.

- པདྨ་དབང་འདུས་ Pema Wangdiཨཱ་་་ཁོ་ཕོ་སྐྱེས་ཀྱི་ ཁེ་ཀོ་འབད་ནི་དེ་གིས་ དེ་འབདཝ་ད་ དོམ་གྱིས་སླབ་མས་ལོ། རྫམ་དོ་བཟུམ་ཅིག་ མ་རྫམ་བཟུམ་འབད་ད་ ཨ་ལྕོ་ཟེརཝ་མས་ལོ་ལགས།Ah...He was a man and because of his energy told by bear. He tends asif like cutting or not cutting then bear told brother.

- པདྨ་དབང་འདུས་ Pema Wangdiདེ་འབདཝ་ད་ ཨམ་སྲུ་གིས་ གནས་སྐབས་བཏོན་ཏེ་ ཨམ་སྲུ་རིག་པ་ཅན་སྡོད་སྡོདཔ་མས་ལགས། དེ་གིས་སྦེ་ མོ་རའི་ རྨགཔ་བཟའ་མ་བཅུག་པས་ལགས། ཡ་འ་ནཱེམ་ཅིག་ཞུ་གེ་ལགས་ སློབ་དཔོན་ལགས། འ་ནཱེམ་ཅིག་ཨིན་ལགས།But then wife was very brilliant because she has shown her idea. Thats why her husband was saved. Ya teacher now only this much to say.
