Lemo from Hungrel Gewog (county) in Paro district, narrates a story explaining the brown color of fleas and the white chest of lice. According to her story, a fight broke out between a flea and a louse. The flea took a piece of burning coal and hit it on the chest of the louse, turning its chest white. In return the louse threw the flea into the fire, turning it brown. The story also mentions the ideas and strategies the louse had in defeating the flea in an eating competition. The practice of storytelling has declined significantly since the old days.

- ཨམ་གླེ་མོ་ Aum Lemoདང་ཕུ་དང་ཕུ་ དིང་ཕུ་དིང་ཕུ་ ཀི་ཤིག་གཅིག་དང་ཤིག་མོ་གཅིག་རྒྱལ་སྤུངས་ཏེ་ ཁོང་གཉིས་ཀུ་ ཏེ་ད་ད་རེས་ལྟོ་འདི་ ཏེ་ང་བཅས་ར་ལྟོ་འབད་ སྤགས་བཙོ་སྦེ་ ཏེ་ནི་ལས་ཏེ་ རི་ཁར་ཤིང་འཐུ་བར་འགྱོ་གེ་ནོ་ཟེར་ ཏེ་ཤིང་འཐུ་ས་ལས་མར་ག་མགྱོགས་མི་འདི་གིས་ ཏེ་ལྷག་མ་མེད་པར་བཟའ་ནི་སྦེ་ ཏེ་ཁོང་གཉིས་ཀུ་རྒྱལ་སྤུངས་སྤུངསམ་མས།Long long ago, a flea and a louse had a bet, they cooked special rice and meat for lunch and then betted that who ever comes first from the forest with firewood will eat all the lunch.

They collected forewoods and made themselves ready to compete the race. As flea is expert in hooping, he hooped with the greed to get first but his single hoop crumbled his agganged firewoods and made him rearrangment it again; as the louse didn't know how to hoop, she ambled and she got first to reach near their lunch.
- ཨམ་གླེ་མོ་ Aum Lemoཤིག་མོ་མགྱོགས་ ཤིག་མོ་གིས་ལྟོ་དྭངས་འཕྲོས་འཕྲོས་ཟ་ རོགས་རྫམ་ཡང་ཆུ་འཁྱུ་ ག་ནི་ཡང་མེད་པ་ རོགས་ཐབ་ཁར་སྤུབས་བཞག་སྦེ་ ཏེ་རོགས་མོ་ཨ་རམ་(meaning 'rest' in Hindi Language)(ངལ་འཚོ་སྦེ་)སྡོདཔ་ད་ ཀི་ཤིག་འོང་དེས་ཟེར་བས་ལོ་ ཤིང་ཁུར་ཧྲམ་ཡི་ར་ ཏེ་ཁོ་འོང་ ཏེ་ཁོ་ལྟོ་ཟ་ནི་འབད་བའི་བསྒང་ལསན་ ཏེ་ཐབ་ཁ་ལུ་ཆུ་ཕོརཔ་གང་ཡང་མེད་སྦེ་ རྫམ་ཡང་ཆུ་བཤལ་ག་ཕུབ་རྐྱབ་བཞག་སྦེ་ ཏེ་འདི་ལས་ཁོང་གཉིས་ཀུ་རྒྱགས་སོ་ནུག་ དེ་ལས།She than eat all the food and washed all the pots making sure that even a particle of food is not left and she rested. This is it.
