Video Overview
This short story is about two boys, the son of rich family and the son of a poor one. The story conveys the message that honesty is good and dishonesty bad. The two boys decide to buy a golden vase together. The rich boy urges his friend to keep the vase hidden under a tree, but later, he steals it and accuses the poor boy. The only witness is the tree itself. When people asked the tree, a voice emerged and said the poor boy took the vase. The poor boy gathers sticks around the tree saying out loud, “I will only go to prison after burning this liar tree!” Before he could light the fire, the father of the rich boy comes down the tree and confesses to the crime. Yethuen Pinduk from Shali narrates the story in Tsangla.

- ཡིད་མཐུན་སྤུན་དྲུག་:Yethuen Pindukཁྱིམ་ནང་ འབག་གེ་ཟེརཝ་ད་ ཕྱུག་པོའི་ཨ་ལོ་དང་ སྤྱང་ཀའི་ ཨ་ལོ་གཉིས་ཡོདཔ་མས། if they wanted to take home , they had to share as one was a rich boy where as the other was a poor boy
- ཡིད་མཐུན་སྤུན་དྲུག་:Yethuen Pindukཕྱུག་པོའི་ཨ་ལོ་གིས་ ཁོ་འབག་ནིའི་དོན་ལུ་ ད་ལྟོ་ གནས་སྐབས་ཀྱི་ ཤིང་གི་རྩ་བར་གཡིབ་བཞག་གེ་ཟེར། the rich boy said" for a while lets hide it under this tree!" so that he could take it later

- ཡིད་མཐུན་སྤུན་དྲུག་:Yethuen Pindukང་བཅས་གཉིས་ཀྱི་ བུམ་པ་ལེན་པར་འགྱོ་གེ་ཟེརཝ་ད་ he said " lets go get our vase"
- ཡིད་མཐུན་སྤུན་དྲུག་:Yethuen Pindukཕྱུག་པོའི་ཨ་ལོ་དེ་གིས་ ཁོ་ར་ རྐྱངམ་ཅིག་སོང་སྟེ་ འབག་འོང་འོངམ་ཨིན་པས། the rich boy had already taken out the vase himself
- ཡིད་མཐུན་སྤུན་དྲུག་:Yethuen Pindukདེ་ལས་ ཕྱུག་པོའི་ཨ་ལོ་གིས་ བུམ་པ་དེ་ འབག་ཡར་སོང་ནུག་ མིན་འདུག་ཟེར་ བྱེལཝ་ལང་ལངམ་ཨིན་པས། then as the vase was already taken by the rich boy he told the poor boy that the vase was missing

- ཡིད་མཐུན་སྤུན་དྲུག་:Yethuen Pindukདེ་ལས་མི་བཏུབ་པས་ཟེར་ ག་གིས་ ཕྲང་འོང་ག་ཟེར་ སླབ་ད་ "this is not justic, who would tell the truth" he asked

- ཡིད་མཐུན་སྤུན་དྲུག་:Yethuen Pindukདབའི་ དེ་སྦེ་ར་ཨིན་པ་ཅིན་ འ་ནཱི་ ཤིང་གིས་ མེན་མི་དེ་ཡང་ ནཱེ་སྦེ་ཕྲང་དེས། in such situation even this lifeless tree is teeling the truth
- ཡིད་མཐུན་སྤུན་དྲུག་:Yethuen Pindukདེ་ལས་ སྤྱང་ཀའི་ཨ་ལོ་དེ་ བརྩོན་ནང་བཙུགས་ནི་འབད་འབདཝ་ཨིན་པས། གཞན་མི་ཚུ་གིས་ ཉེས་འཛུགས་བཀལ་ཏེ་། then the poor boy was to be put in the prison with the people accusing him
- ཡིད་མཐུན་སྤུན་དྲུག་:Yethuen Pindukང་བརྩོན་ནང་ བཙུགས་རུང་བཙུགས་ ཤི་རུང་ཤི་ འ་ནཱི་ཤིང་ མེ་བཏང་ཞིནམ་ལས་ཤི་ནི་ཟེར་ "put me in the prison or kill me but i will burn the tree and die" said the poor boy
- ཡིད་མཐུན་སྤུན་དྲུག་:Yethuen Pindukཤིང་མེ་བཏང་ནི་ཟེར་ ཤིང་སྐམ་སྤུངས་ཏེ་ མེ་བཏང་ནི་འབདཝ་ད་ སྐུ་ཆེ་འབད་གེ་ཡི་ཟེར་ཨིན་པས། then saying so he piled dry woods around the tree and when he was about to burn it the tree begged him

- ཡིད་མཐུན་སྤུན་དྲུག་:Yethuen Pindukཨ་་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ ལཱ་ག་ཅིག་བཟུམ་ར་ ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་འབད་ནི་ཨིན་པས་སྨ་རེ་ཟེར་ ཕྱུག་པོའི་ཨ་པ་ ཤིང་ལས་ཐོན་འོང་། "hey you are going to do any thing" saying this the father of the rich boy came out of the tree
- ཡིད་མཐུན་སྤུན་དྲུག་:Yethuen Pindukདེ་ལས་ བུམ་པ་ཡང་ ལོག་སྟེ་ བགོ་བཤའ་རྐྱབ་ནུག་ཟེར་ཨིན་པས། ཁོང་གཉིས་འཇུག་ལུ། then it is said that the golden vase was equally divided between them.
