Pema Zangmo from Chongshing Gewog (county) in Pemagatshel Dzongkhag (district), narrates the story of a bear and an old couple. One day an old man went to clear the forest for corn cultivation. A bear approached him and said he will eat the old man, but every time this happened the old man gave the excuse that the bear can eat him after the corn harvest. When the time came, the old man told his wife that he will be eaten by a bear. The wife put on her husband's gho, bow and arrow and accompanied him into the forest. She kept a distance and when the bear appeared, she stepped onto the scene, appearing as a hunter which caused the bear to hide. Disguising her voice like a man, she asked her husband: "Hey old man, did you see a bear?". The bear insisted to the husband that he should deny it. The man said no, he did not see any bear. The wife again asked: "What is that black object near you?". The bear tells him, "Say it's a log", which he did. Then she asked: "What is that white thing on the leg? Isn't it a white chest?". The bear tells the old man to say it's not a white chest and merely a mushroom, which he did. The old lady says: "Chop it and show me." While the old man moves his axe, the bear tells him to swing it slowly. Yet the old man hits the bear's white chest full-force and kills the bear.
