The story of Apa Tsorpo was narrated by Chanu from Kharmi village under Trashigang Dzongkhag. It is about a mother and her son whom the son deceived his mother promising to get her some special meat that the mother is fond to eat. The son being very lazy, he does nothing at home and monther never allowed to eat meals. Thus, the son was hungry and deceived his mother. He even went to beg food from the neighbours but everyone denied to provide food for him.

    ད་ ང་གིས་གཏམ་ཅིག་ཞུ་བ་ཅིན་ ང་བཅས་འཆང་མི་གི་ལུང་ཤོང་ཟེར་ས་ལུ་ ཏེ་ ཨ་པ་ཙོར་པོ་ཟེར་མི་ཅིག་སྡོད་ཡི་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི། ཙོར་པོ་གི་ང་དོག་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ ཏེ་ ད་ དོམ་གཅིག་འབད་མི་ བདེན་འཛིན་ཡང་མི་རེདཔ་འོང་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི།
    Now I will narrate a story. At Changmi, yaega, there was a man named Tshorpo who had unbelievably a very long thigh.

    ཏེ་ དོམ་ཕྱེད་ཀ་འདི་ ལྷག་པ་ཅིན་ ལྷག་འོང་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི། དེ་བསྒང་ལུ་ ཁོ་སྐྱེས་ལོ་ ག་དེམ་ཅིག་སྡོད་ཡི་གོ་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ ཁོ་ཧ་ལམ་ ལོ་ ༡༦ དང་ ༡༧ གྱི་བར་ན་འགྱོ་འགྱོཝ་སྡོད་ནུག་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི། ཏེ་ ཁོ་ལཱ་འབདཝ་ད་ལུ་ ག་དེ་ལས་ཡང་ ཉམས་འཚེར་ཏེ་ དེ་ལས་ཁོ་གིས་ ཁོ་གིས་ཨའི་ལུ་ ཚར་ཅིག་འབདཝ་ད་ ཁོ་གིས་ཨའི་ལུ་མགུ་བསྐོར་རྐྱབ་ནུག་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི།
    Ap Tshorpo was between 16 to 17 years old and he was really lazy on works. Once he cheated his mother.

    མགུ་སྐོར་འདི་ཡང་ ག་དེ་སྦེ་བརྐྱབ་ནུག་གོ་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ ཏེ་ ཁོ་ལཱ་ ཉན་མ་བཏུབ་ནི་འདི་གིས་ ཨའི་གིས་རྟས་ཐག་གི་བརྡུང་སྟེ་བདའ་སྟེ་ ཏེ་ ཁོ་བྱོག་འགྱོ་སྟེ་སྡོདཔ་ད་ལུ་ ད་རེས་ནངས་པ་བཟུམ་ཅིག་ལུ་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ ལུམ་པ་ཡར་རྒྱས་མ་འགྱོ་བ་ལས་བརྟེན་ཏེ་ བཟའ་ནི་འཐུང་ནི་ ག་ནི་ལས་ཡང་ ཉུང་སུ་ཡོད་ནི་དེ་གིས་ ཏེ་ ཁོ་ག་གི་ཁྱིམ་ནང་ལུ་འགྱོ་བལྟ་རུང་ ལྟོ་མ་བྱིན་པར།
    Tshorpo did not listen to any of the work that his mother gave him. After frustration his mother bet him. So he ran away to escape beating and wander around begging for food. Unlike today, there was limited food to eat in the past. He was denied wherever he went to begged.

    དེ་ལས་ འཐུང་ནི་གི་ཆུ་ཅིག་ཡང་མ་ཐོབ་པར་ དབུགས་འགམ་སྟེ་ དེ་ལས་ ཁོ་གིས་ཤོབ་བརྐྱབ་ནི་འགོ་བཙུགས་ནུག་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི། ཤོབ་ག་དེ་སྦེ་རྐྱབ་ཅི་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ ཨ་མ་ཟེར་ ཁོ་གིས་ཨའི་གི་མིང་ ག་ཅི་སླབ་སྨོ་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ ཨང་རྒས་ཆུང་སྐྱིད་ཟེར་སླབ་འོང་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི།
    He could not even get a water to drink. Frustrated with this situation he started to lie. His mother’s name was chungki.

    དེ་ལས་ ཨའི་ལུ་ཁོ་གིས་ འགྱོ་སྟེ་ག་ཅི་ཞུ་ནུག་སླབ་ནུག་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ ཨའི་ ང་གིས་ཁྱོད་ལུ་ཀ་ཤ་གི་ཤ་ མི་བྱིན་ཟེར་སླབ་ནུག་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི། ཏེ་ ཁྱོད་ ཡ་ ཏེ་ ཨའི་དེ་འཕྲོ་ལས་ར་ དང་པོའི་མི་འབད་ནི་འདི་གིས་ ཧ་ལས་ཏེ་ ཡ་ བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་ཀ་ཤ་ཤ་རེ་ཐོབ་ནི་ཡོད་པ་ཅིན་ བཀྲིན་ཆེ་ནི་ཨིན་པས།
    He went near his mother and said “I won’t give you deer’s meat.”Amazed about what she heard she said if you could get dears meat it would be really thankful.

    དེ་ལས་ ཨའི་གིས་ ཁོ་ ལྟོ་འབད་དེ་ ཏེ་ ཕོཝ་དྲངསམ་འབད་བྱིན། དེ་ལས་ ཀ་ཤ་གི་ཤ་འབག་ཤོག་ ད་ ཨ་པ་ཆུ་དཔག་བར་འགྱོ་འདི་ཡོད། ཏེ་ ད་ ཨ་པ་ལུ་ ཚོདམ་བཙོ་སྟེ་བྱིན་དགོ་པས། ལྟོ་བསྐྱལ་བར་འབག་ནི་ཨིན་ཟེར་སླབ་ད་ལུ་ ཏེ་ ཁོ་གིས་ ཁོ་ལུ་ཤ་འདི་ མ་པ་ལས་རང་ མེད་པར་ཧེ་མ་ལས་རང་ ཤོབ་རྐྱབ་བཞག་ནི་འདི་གིས་ ཏེ་ ཁོ་གིས་ ག་དེ་སྦེ་འབད་ཡི་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ ཁོ་གིས།
    His mother after feeding him very well, asked him to get the deer’s meat. She informed him that his father had gone to irrigate the terrain. “I have to cook curry for your father. I need to take food for him,” mother said.

    ཨའེ་ ཨ་མ་ ང་གིས་ཀ་ཤ་གི་ཤ་འདི་ འབག་འོང་ནི་སྡོད་ཅི། དེ་འབདཝ་ད་ལུ་ ཀ་ཤ་འདི་བདའ་མ་འཛིན། ཨ་ནཱ་ཆུ་མ་ནི་འོག་ལས་ཡར་ ཀ་ཤ་གཉིས་ ཡར་ཏ་འགྱོ་ཡི་ཟེར་སླབ་ཞིནམ་ལས་ ད་རུང་ཁོ་ཨའི་གིས་ རྟས་ཐག་སྤུས་ཙ་དྲང་སྟེ་ བདའ་གཏང་ནུག་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི།
    Tshorpo then said, “I would have brought the deer’s meat but I could not catch the deer.” He said that two deers went crossing above the water prayer wheel (chumagni). Then mother again beat him and chased him away.

    དེ་ལས་ད་རུང་ ཨ་ནཱ་བདའ་སྟེ་ ཁོ་གིས་ ད་རུང་ གནས་སྐབས་ཅིག་འགྱིར་ཏེ་ ད་རུང་ བདུན་ཕྲག་གཅིག་དེ་ཅིག་ ཁོ་ལྟོ་མ་ཐོབ་པར་ བཤལ་ཡི་རང་སྡོད། དེ་ལས་ ད་རུང་ ཁོ་གིས་ཚར་གཅིག་ཟེརཝ་ད་ ད་རུང་ཡང་ ཁོ་གིས་ཤོབ་ནི་གིས་ ཁྱིམ་ནང་འོང་འོངམ་ཨིན་མས། ལྟོ་བཀྱེས་ཏེ་འོང་ཡོདཔ་ཨིན་པས་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི།
    He had been roaming around a week without food. So he planned for another idea. Then again he returned home with a lie.

    དེ་ལས་ ག་དེ་སྦེ་ ཨའི་ལུ་ག་དེ་སྦེ་སླབ་ནི་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ དེ་བསྒང་ལུ་ ཛའི་ ད་རེས་འབདན་ ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་ཐད་རི་བ་རི་ཨིན་ཟེར་ གཡུ་གའི་ཟེར་སླབ་འོང་། སྔ་ལོང་གི་འདི་[བྱི་ངནམ་]ཟེར་སླབ་མས། [བྱི་ངནམ་]འདི་ ང་གིས་ཐོབ་འདི་ཡོད། ཨའི་ ཁྱོད་ལུ་མི་བྱིན་ཟེར་སླབ་ད་ ཨའི་མོ་གི་ ཕྲང་ཏང་ཏ་ཅིག་སྡོད་ཅི་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི། ཨང་རྒས་ཡང་ ཨ་ཙི་ཙི་ མོ་གི་ མིག་ཏོག་ཡང་མ་བདེ་མི་ཅིག་སྡོད་ཡི། ཨང་རྒས་ཆོང་སྐྱིད་ཟེར།
    Again he told her mother that he had found something and said that he would not give it to her. His mother was straight forward and truthful with poor eye sight too.

    ཡ་ བུ་ཟེར་ ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་ཚ་ཁར་ཚུད་ནུག་མས་ ད་འབདན། སྨན་ཤ་ཨིན་ཟེར་སླབ་ཨིན་ ཨ་ནཱི་འདི། གནམ་མེད་ས་མེད་ལེགས་ཤོམ་ཨིན་པས་ཟེར་ [བྱི་ངནམ་]རེ་ཐོབ་པ་ཅིན་ ཏེ་ བཏུབ་སྨ་རེད་ཟེར། ཏེ་ ད་ལྟོ་འབག་ཤོག་ཟེརཝ་ད་ལུ་ ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་ལྟོ་མ་བྱིནམ་ལས་ ག་ཅི་བྱིན་ནི་ཟེར་ ཁོ་གིས་ལྟོ་མ་བྱིན་ཚུན་ཚོད་ ཏེ་ [བྱི་ངནམ་]འདི་ མ་སླབ་པས་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི།
    My son you did a good job, said his mother. This meat is said to be a medicine and it is a very good one.

    དེ་ལས་ ཨའི་གིས་ལྟོ་འབད་བྱིན་ཏེ། ཁོ་ཕོཝ་དྲངས་ཞིནམ་ལས་ དེ་ལས་ཁོ་གིས་ [བྱི་ངནམ་] ཀྭ་ལས་ཟེརཝ་ད་ [བྱི་ངནམ་]ང་གིས་འབག་འོང་ནི་ཟེརཝ་ད་ལུ་ སོ་བཏབ་བྱིན་དེས། དེ་ལས་ ཏེ་ འབག་མ་འོང་ཟེར་སླབ་སྟེ་སོང་ནུག་ ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས། ད་ལྟོ་གཏམ་འདི་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ ཨ་ནཱི་ཅིག་ཨིན་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི། ཨ་རྒས་ཙོར་པོའི་སྐོར་ལས།
    Mother again cooked and served him well and then asked for the meat. To this he replied, “I would have brought the meat but as I was bitten I could not get,” and then he left. This much is the story about Ap Tshorpo.
