Sonam Tenpa, a sixty-eight-year-old from Golok, briefly introduces the background or the oral sayings about the holy place, Trashi Gomang. Prior to the time when there were neither Buddhism nor kings in Tibet, Guru Rinpoché or Padmasambhava, was residing in the holy land of India. It was eight years after the Buddha passed away, and Ashoka committed sins. In order to eliminate the sins, Guru Rinpoché suggested he to give up his kingdom as well as build a million of stupas everywhere without missing single of it. Furthermore, he also introduces briefly how this is one of the three holiest places in the Amdo region.
