Okay, sir. There are three stone-pillars in the area of Chongye tomb. And this pillar is one of them. This one in front is/used to be in front of King Trideh Songtsen's tomb.

As for the height of this stone-pillar, it is little over 7 meters. We took it out of the ground and made it visible to others. Previously, one could see only little over two meters of the pillar above the ground.

这座石碑的高度呢，大概有7米多高。我们把它从地下搬到地面上，这样可以看到石碑的全部。以前，地面上只露出2米左右。

It is mentioned that it is primarily King Trideh Songtsen's accomplishments that are inscribed on the pillar in ancient Tibetan scripts employed during the time of the early kings, the Tibetan scripts that were used before the script-reform.

石碑上刻着藏文改革之前，以早期藏王统治时期时的藏文，记录的主要是藏王赤松德赞的伟绩。

It is difficult to say which the biggest one or the smallest one is. It is mentioned in history books that there are three stone-pillars in and around Chongye.

This is the only one out of the three that has been unearthed so far. There is also one in the Chongye district. The size of that pillar is same as this one.

It is said that there is still one more stone-pillar in front of King Trisong Deutsen's [tomb] up there in the Donkar Valley. The shapes of all these pillars are basically the same. It is said that they all have the Chinese style. They are exactly the same as those in China.

据说还有一座石碑在敦喀里面藏王赤松德赞的坟前。这些石碑的形状一般来说都是完全一样的。都是汉式的，和内地的石碑一模一样。

I presume that it is from local areas. They are exactly the same as the stones found in Tibetan mountain regions. They were not brought in from other areas.

It is a solid lump of stone from the bottom upto the top. The inscriptions are made on all sides, front and back, right and left. This side is the back [part of the stone.] There are around one hundred Tibetan letters inscribed on the front side. And there are illustrations of dragons, clouds, and so forth on right and left sides.

都是一整块一整块的,是从底部到顶部都是一整块的石头。前后左右每一边都刻着文字。这边是石碑的后面,石碑的前面刻有一百多个藏文文字。左面和右面刻着龙、云等图案。

And there are several illustrations of cloud under the cap of the stone-pillar; there is an offering goddess on each of the four sides; and there are the sun and the moon and all kinds of crops. And the base for the stone-pillar is something similar to the back of a turtle. In any case, it was made based on the shape of a turtle-like-creature. It is said that the style of the stone-pillar is exactly the same as those from the Tang Dynasty.

这个可以说成是碑帽。这座石碑的帽沿下有一些云的图案，四边每一边都刻有一位供养仙女，而且前面还刻有太阳、月亮和各种谷物。石碑的底座像一只乌龟的背部。总之，是建在一个类似乌龟的形状上的。据说，这和唐代的石碑建筑风格完全一致。

The meaning is not the same. The main content of the inscription on this stone-pillar deals with the accomplishments of King Trideh Songtsen. All of his accomplishments are inscribed on this pillar. The one in the other district has King Trisong Deutsen's accomplishments inscribed on it. They had different accomplishments.

内容不一样。这座石碑主要讲的是藏王赤德松赞的伟绩。他的全部伟绩都记载在这座石碑上。而县里的石碑上记录的是藏王赤松德赞的伟绩。他们两位的伟绩是不一样的。

Generally, the sculptures of the two snow lions and the stone-pillar follow the Chinese tradition. [They are the same as] the stone-pillars from the Tang Dynasty that are in Shian, China these days. In particular, it is said that the shapes of the snow lion sculptures are the same.
