The boedra song “A Star Shines from the East” (Sharle Karma Chikshar) is performed in this video by Tshampa Samten from Langmikha, Paro. Through the use of beautiful metaphors, the song glorifies Buddhism and praises spiritual masters for looking after the welfare of all sentient beings. The song resorts in particular to imagery connected to the Jowo Rinpoche statue in Lhasa, Tibet, and natural elements. It says, for instance, that Jowo Rinpoche represents the spiritual body, and that the moon invokes the appearance of the masters.
