Video Overview
Jangchub Wangmo from Nganglam village of Zobel gewog sings a folk song expressing sadness using imagery from the natural world, evoking the movement of the stars through the otherwise empty sky. It also says the garden is filled with flowers, but when the flowers are plucked to be offerings on the altar, the empty garden is sad. Finally is the sad conclusion is that the singer has no father in which to place confidence nor a mother to rely on for emotional support.
གླུ་གཞས་ནམ་མཁའ་ཡི་ལ་སྐར་མ་སྨིན་དྲུག་ཟེར་མི་འདི་ པདྨ་དགའ་ཚལ་རྫོང་ཁག་ ཟོ་སྦལ་རྒེད་འོག་ ངང་ལམ་གཡུས་ཚན་ལས་ བྱང་ཆུབ་དབང་མོ་གིས་འཐེནམ་ཨིནམ་ད་ གླུ་གཞས་འདི་ སེམས་འཁྲུལ་བའི་རང་ལུགས་ཀྱི་ གླུ་གཞས་ཅིག་ཨིན་པས། གླུ་གཞས་ཀྱི་ཚིག་ནང་ ནམ་མཁའི་དབྱིངས་ལ་སྐར་མ་སྨིན་དྲུག་ཤར། །འདི་གི་ནང་དུ་སྐར་མ་སྨིན་དྲུག། །སྐར་མ་སྨིན་དྲུག་གླིང་བཞི་སྐོར་དུ་ཕེབས། །ནམ་མཁའ་སྟོང་པ་ལས་ངན་སྐྱོ་བ། །དེ་ལས་འདི་བཟུམ་སྦེ་ རིགས་གྲེ་སྟེ་ མེ་ཏོག་འདི་མཆོདཔ་ཕུལ་ནིའི་དོན་ལུ་ མཆོད་གཤམ་ཁྲ་མོར་བཀལ་བའི་བསྒང་ལས་ ལྡུམ་ར་སྟོང་པ་ལས་ངན་སྐྱོ་བ་ཟེར་དང་ དེ་ལས་མཇུག་ར་ བློ་ལ་གཏད་པའི་ཡབ་ཆེན་ང་ལུ་མེད། ཧིང་ལ་ཚ་བའི་ཡུམ་ཆེན་ལ་ཡོད་ཟེར་ཨིན་པས།
- བྱང་ཆུབ་དབང་མོ་ Jangchub Wangmoནམ་མཁའི་དབྱིངས་ལ་སྐར་མོ་(མ་)ཡ་ལ་སྨིན་དྲུག་ཤར་ལ། །འདི་གི་ནང་དུ་སྐར་མོ་(མ་)ཡ་ལ་སྨིན་དྲུག །In the vastness of space, stars twinkle. Among the stars is the group of stars, the Pleiades.
- བྱང་ཆུབ་དབང་མོ་ Jangchub Wangmoསྐར་མ་སྨིན་དྲུག་གླིང་བཞི་ཡ་ལ་བསྐོར་དུ་ཐལ་ལ། །ནམ་མཁའི་(ནམ་མཁའ་)སྟོང་པ་ལས་ངན་ཡ་ལ་སྐྱོ་བ། །When those Pleiades go around the four continents, it's obvious that the space is upset.
- བྱང་ཆུབ་དབང་མོ་ Jangchub Wangmoལྡུམ་རའི་མས་ལ་མེ་ཏོག་ཡ་ལ་བརྒྱ་བརྒྱད་འཁྲུངས་ལ། །འདི་གི་ནང་དུ་སྟོང་ལྡན་ཡ་ལ་མེ་ཏོག །In the garden, there are abundant flowers. Among those flowers is one flower called the tongdhen.
- བྱང་ཆུབ་དབང་མོ་ Jangchub Wangmoསྟོང་ལྡན་མེ་ཏོག་མཆོད་གཤམ་ཡ་ལ་ནང་ལུ་མཇལ་ལ། །ལྡུམ་རའི་སྟོང་པ་ལས་ངན་ཡ་ལ་སྐྱོ་བ། །When the tongdhen flower is offered on the shrine, the garden naturally feels empty.
- བྱང་ཆུབ་དབང་མོ་ Jangchub Wangmoཁང་ཁྱིམ་ནང་དུ་བུ་མོ་ཡ་ལ་སྤུན་གསུམ་མཇལ་ལ། །འདི་གི་ནང་དུ་ཨ་ཞེ་ཡ་ལ་སྣང་སེང་(སྣང་ས)། །Three sisters are seen in the house. Among them, one is Azhi Nangsey.
- བྱང་ཆུབ་དབང་མོ་ Jangchub Wangmoཨ་ཞེ་སྣང་སེང་(སྣང་ས་)དམ་པའི་ཡ་ལ་ལྷ་ཆོས་མེད་(འགྲོ་)ལ། །ཁང་ཁྱིམ་སྟོང་པ་ལས་ངན་ཡ་ལ་སྐྱོ་བ། །If Ashi Nangsey pursues the Dharma, the house will naturally feel the emptiness.
- བྱང་ཆུབ་དབང་མོ་ Jangchub Wangmoབློ་ལ་གཏད་པའི་ཞབས་ཆེན་(ཡབ་ཆེན་)ཡ་ལ་ང་ལུ་མེད་ལ། །ཧིང་ལ་ཚ་བའི་ཡུམ་ཆེན་ཡ་ལ་ང་ལུ། །I don't have a father whom I could trust. I don't have a mother who cares for me.
- བྱང་ཆུབ་དབང་མོ་ Jangchub Wangmoལགས་སོ།། །།That's all!
