Choden from Minjey Gewog sings an old bodra song called "Lhuendrup Tsegi Dzongchen". The lyrics describe the dzong perched on a ridge overlooking the Kurichu river. Like other dzongs, it is built on a strategic location overlooking the whole valley. Its architectural magnificence is captured in the song, attributed to one of its Dzongpen (pre-democratic era aristocratic title, 'Lord'). The song is one of the most popular folk songs from the Kurtoe region in Lhuntse. It is said that the song was composed by one of the Dzongpen of Lhuntse district during the medieval period, yet it remains unknown which Dzongpen. Some claim that when Gongsa Jigme Namgyal was holding the post of Trongsa Zimpon, he was also looking after the responsibilities that normally fall on the Lhuntse Zimpon. Later this man became Lhuntse Dzongpen en during his frequent tours to Lhuntse, lasting for one month, he would take some of his Boegraps (court attendants) with him. The Boegraps got homesick and composed this song. They praise the dzong and its surroundings. But in this video, Choden seemingly sang only a part of the song as she merely covered the description of the dzong, the river flowing besides is and the cypress tree.
