Video Overview
The term Tshangmo has three different meanings, with some considering them a secret divination, others a divination using a thorn, and still others claiming that it is poetry that originated from Tshang, Tibet. Tshangmo are sung to express emotions, and convey inner warmth and affection to another person through lyrical melodies. Amongst the several categories of Tshangmo, the present one is a befriending Tshangmo as it expresses to the listener that there is fate between the two. The author wanted to meet her destined lover in the ocean, despite being at the opposite site of the ocean. The other section of the ballad discloses the same meaning, but with the use of different metaphors.
