This is a solitary herder song, explaining that the cuckoo bird sits on a branch of a tree and sings a melody that gives the sensation of a lack of rain. The second stanza narrates about a horse and a herder, and asks the herder not to but surprised when he hears the neighing sound of a horse from the shed during heavy rainfall. These days younger singers are not interested to learn these traditional songs and are much more influenced by Western pop music.
