This song was once recorded by Ap Dopay, the celebrated Bhutanese singer, and sold in the form of audiocassettes. This recording can still be heard on Bhutan Broadcasting Service, the state-owned radio and television service. Ap Dopey sang this song accompanied by a dramnyen, a musical instrument similar to a guitar with seven strings. Because of the nature of Ap Dopay’s recording, it is difficult for listeners to clearly understand the lyrics. In this video, Lhamo from Talo in Punakha sings it without the dramnyen; her version of this song is very audible and easy to understand. The beginning of Lhamo’s performance is a little different from Ap Dopey’s, since this song can be sung to two different tunes.
