Khenpo Singay Dorji from Gangteng Shedra, a monastic college, teaches on how to dedicate the merits of good deeds, and on the benefits of doing so. In particular, he speaks about the merits accumulated while taking part summer retreats, and how these merits should be dedicated. The khenpo explains that merits should never be dedicated to just oneself, which would be naturally selfish. Instead, merits should be dedicated to the general wellbeing of all sentient beings, the country and its people. Such way of dedicating the merits is ultimately a cause for peace and happiness for oneself as well. This teaching was given in the final day of a summer retreat in Gangteng Monastery.
