Video Overview
The song “Say it Once” (Amo Lenchik Sungla) is performed by Leki Tshomo from Daagsa village in Mongar. It describes sacred places in Bumthang, Bhutan through the eyes of a black-necked crane. The song says, “Lama on the throne, listen to the black-necked crane! I, the crane from Tibet, wandering around the world, reached the Choekhorthang in Bumthang and other places.” The lyrics describe Bumthang as wonderful and happy, and specific spaces there such as Choekhorthang, Jampa Temple and Dargmar Dorji Drag. In these latter two places, there are statues of Jowo Jampa (Maitreya) and Guru Padmasambhava, which can liberate one from the world of suffering upon sight.
