“Changtsang Gormo” (The Round Brewery), performed here by Tshechula from Daagsa village, Mongar District, is a popular drinking song. The first section of the song says a “round brewery” is set up in the east where a master, the Buddha Vajrasattva, resides. The lyrics then describe Vajrasattva wearing a hat known as orgyen pezha, adorned with a golden sun and a moon. It glorifies it further by saying that a shower of silver rain falls on the golden sun and moon. The final line says that “we request the tastiest ara for the youths of the three realms.” Tshechula sings only the first section of the song and makes a note at the end that the rest follows the same pattern with only a change in the other three directions and its Buddhas.
