The song “At the Precious Jewel Mountain” describes the goods provided by domestic animals that live around a precious mountain. In the first four verses, two kinds of animals— the cow and the sheep—are described. The song then mentions a “milk lake” whirling at the foot of a mountain of jewels, and a “wall of butter” with cattle roaming nearby. It talks about stacked walls of wools from which the five colors of rainbow arise, a reference to the colors of thread that are produced from wool. Lastly, the lyrics say that on the top of the jewel mountain reside authentic lamas. It concludes with an aspiration that they live long. With slight different lyrics, this song is popularly sung all across Bhutan.
