Before the advent of television in Bhutan, storytelling was the only entertainment in the evenings. Grandparents used to tell stories to their grandchildren, impressing upon them ethical values and other kinds of knowledge. In this video, Aum Pema Dolma narrates the story of a fox and an egg. The fox kills a hen that leaves behind an egg. Later, the egg would take revenge against the fox for killing his mother. Thus, the story conveys the message that one should always be thankful towards his or her parents for their love and care, and go as far as seeking revenge if need be.
