This folktale tells the story of how the crow came to be called "po rok" in Tibetan. When all different forms of sentient beings first appeared, Great Garuda, king of the birds, began to give names to the various kinds of birds. Seeing that the crow was black and had a gentle nature, he called it "Nak mo," literally "black woman." Thinking that "po rok" did not sound especially nice, he Great Garuda called human females "po rok." The crow, however, did not care for its name and managed to exchange it with the human woman. That is why a crow is called "po rok" in Tibetan today.
