The Ache Lhamo Cham dance in Zangthig of Samdrupjongkhar is performed early in the morning to pacify the dangerous spirits and bring auspiciousness to the whole day. It has two performers: one as the main dancer while the other plays the role of accomplice. The dancers flip the white-haired skin that hangs over the back of their heads towards the audience as they welcome people. The dancers also hold a small stick with silk streamers hanging off of it that represents the "Dhadar", or an arrow with a silk scarf. In this video, there is a slight deviation from the traditional performance and the song was sung by the Ache Lhamo dance teacher although it is supposed to be sung by the dancers themselves.
