This ancient song comments on the difference in times when various phases of house construction take place. The composer is unknown but today this song is sung at the occasion of the construction of temples, monasteries, dzongs and houses in Bhutan. The performer, Pasang from Lungo in Gasa, claims that the song has been passed down for generations without any change to the tune or lyrics. She added that these days many young Bhutanese singers are not interested in learning this kind of song because they are greatly influenced by western pop music. The song has never been documented before. It is common to find old songs with the chorus similar to this one.
