The eastern region of Bhutan is popularly called Sharchog Khorlo Tsipgay (the eight regions of east), comprised of Trashigang, Trashi Yangtse, Zhongar, Dungsam, Kurtoe, and the three central regions of Trongsa, Bumthang and Zhemgang. The song was composed recently, and its lyrics describe the eight names of the region with mention of the specialty or unique features of each. For instance, Bumthang has numerous sacred sites, and Trashi Yangtse is known for expertise in weaving Kishothara. The eight eastern regions are thus each glorified in the song.

- གླེ་པོ་ Lepoཟངས་ག་གཞོང་པ་བཀང་ཉི། །ཕ་མ་སྤུན་ཆ་དྲངས་མེ། །ཟས་ནོར་དར་སྦེ་རྟེན་འབྲེལ། །Having fill up the copper bowl, we will give to the parents to spread eatable goods by dependent relation.
