Sherun Dorji of Langmikha village of Dogar gewog in Paro district in this video document is describing etymology of some villages around his locality. According to him the village Langmikha means the Eye of an Ox. The village is named after the rock with an eye of a Ox which is a cultural heritage rock of the locality. The next village known as Dawakha according to him is a mispronounciation of Dhokakha, meaning the valley of white stone. At the lower part of the valley, he says one can find three white stones and the name of the village of derived from the existance of these three white stones. The place today known as Dobji according to him is actually Dobdreg, meaning the Great effort, because a lama put a great effort to stay in the place. He also briefly talks about the holy water in Dobji. The village Tsangkha according to him is named by Zhabdrung, which means wholesome, because the village had people with skills of thirteen arts. The name of the village Bjaphu, was also given by Zhabdrung according to Sherub, the place looked like head of a bird high among the mountains and therefore Bjaphu, meaning the bird mountain. He also narrates a brief account on the traditional local boarder demarcation of the area in relation to the journey of Zhabdrung.
