Lubum from Rebgong recalls in detail how he was asked to mediate the marriage arrangement between the families of two lovers. Asked by the boy’s father to intervene, they drove to Tongde to negotiate with the girl’s family. Using many different proverbs, Lubum encouraged the parents to let their children stay together in marriage and helped them to negotiate the bride’s dowry.
