Kheng Zhemgang has a style of wedding ceremony that it is similar to certain Indian practices. According to Kheng oral tradition, a popular girl named Jaza was taken as a bride from India to Tibet. The elaborate wedding customs she brought with her involve numerous steps before the actual commitment ceremony, and are still practiced in the region in which she settled.

- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyམ་གཞི་ ནཱ་ལས་གོ་སྐབས་གནང་མི་ལུ་ བཀའ་དྲིན་ཆེ་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས། ད་ང་བཅས་ འཇིག་རྟེན་པའི་ དཔྱེ་གཏམ་ལས་ སླབ་མས་ལགས། གཉེན་རྒྱ་དང་བོད་ཡང་དགོ། དགྲ་ཐབ་ཀྱི་རྩ་བ་ཡང་མི་ཤོང་ཟེར་ སླབ་མས་ལགས།Well! Thank you for giving me such opportunity. There is a universal saying, ''If it is for marriage we may accept be it Indian or Tibetan but we cannot accommodate enemies even near the oven''.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyད་འདི་ ངོ་དང་དྲང་གི་ཞུ་བྱ་ཅིག་?ཨིན་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ལམ་ལུགས་སྲོལ་གྱི་འཐད་ལུ་ལྷོདཔ་ད་(གཉེན་སྒྲིག་གི་ལུགས་སྲོལ་འདི་) ད་མར་རྒྱ་གི་ལུགས་སྲོལ་ཨིན་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།Now this is an identity and truth of legacy. In regard to our custom (in case of arranged marriage), it is the custom of India.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyརྒྱ་ཟ་བོད་ལུ་ བོད་སྤྲུལ་པའི་བཅོ་བརྒྱད་ཀྱི་མནའམ་སྦེ་ འཁྱིད་འོང་བའི་ ལམ་ལུགས་སྲོལ་ཨིན་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན།It is the custom where young Indian lady were brought to Tibet as the bride of eighth Tibetan incarnation.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyད་ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ ད་རུང་ བུམོ་ལུ་ ནང་གི་ ཅ་ལ་ཆུང་ཀུ་ཅིག་བྱིན་ནིའི་ ལམ་ལུགས་སྲོལ་ཅིག་ཡང་ཡོད་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན།Now, we also have the custom of giving small thing to a girl from the house.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyའདི་ལུ་ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ཀྲཱུང་མ་ཟེར་སླབ་མས་ལགས་ ཕམ་ཚུ་གིས་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ སཱན་བ་ཟེར་ གཅིག་གནང་ནི་ཅིག་ཡོད་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ལུགས་སྲོལ།For that we call amulet (sungma). Our parents used to say s'na (amulet) and they give to their daughter. It is our custom.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyདེའི་ནང་དོན་ཉིད་ལས་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ནཱ་ མར་རྒྱ་གར་ལས་བོད་ལུ་ བོད་སྤྲུལ་པའི་བཅོ་བརྒྱད་ཀྱི་ མནའ་མར་འཁྱིད་འོངམ་ད་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ལུགས་དར་ཡོད་མི་འདི།More over, here in our place, the reason for spreading of our custom when eighteenth Tibetan incarnation brought bride from India was that,
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyལ་དོན་གྲུབ་ལ་ ཆུ་མ་རང་ད་རང་གི་དཔེ་དང་ ལུགས་སྲོལ་ཨིན་ཟེར་ ཕམ་བཟང་པོ་གི་བསླབ་བྱ་ འ་ནཱི་བཟུམ་ཅིག་ཡོད་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།as adivsed by respectful parents, ''success of work depends on one's habit of doing work'', such is our custom.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ལུགས་སྲོལ་ཟེར་མི་འདི་ ཕམ་བཟང་པོ་གི་ ལུགས་སྲོལ་ཟེར་མི་འདི་ ཉམས་མི་བཏུབ་ཟེར་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ ད་ལྟོའི་བར་ན་ཡང་ དེ་སྦེ་ར་ལག་ལེན་འཐབ་དོ་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།Our custom, customs of a respectable parents should not degenerate. We continue practicing such customs even today.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyད་ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ལམ་ལུགས་སྲོལ་ཟེར་ ཕམ་གྱི་ ལམ་ལུགས་བཀོ་བཞག་སྟེ་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ སོ་སོར་གདོང་ཁར་ལེནམ་འདྲཝ་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ འཇིག་རྟེན་པའི་ དཔེ་ལུ་ཡོད་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།Our customs which is passed on by our parents if left aside and adopt others customs then there is a universal saying that,
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyརོགས་ཁ་མ་ཤེས་ཁ་བྱང་། །ཟེར་ཕ་མ་བཟང་པོ་གི་ བཀའ་རྒྱ་ཡང་ཡོད་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས། ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ རོགས་ཀྱི་ལུགས་སྲོལ་ཟེར་མི་འདི་ ཤེས་ཡང་མི་ཤེས་པས། དང་པ་ལུ་ ང་བཅས་ལུ་ ཡོན་ཏན་མེད།''Without knowing language of others, we lose our language''. It was the precious advice of our respectful parents. The customs of others were hard to adopt. First of all, we lack education.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyགཉིས་པ་ལུ་ལྷོདཔ་ད་ ཁ་གི་ཚིག་གི་བདེན་པ་མེད། གསུམ་པ་ལུ་ ཉམས་མྱོང་འབྲས་བུ་ག་ནི་ཡང་མེད་པ་ལུ་བརྟེན་ཏེ་ རོགས་ཀྱི་ལུགས་སྲོལ་ཟེར་མི་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ མཐོང་ཡང་མི་མཐོང་པས་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།Secondly, verbal words do not have meaning. Thirdly, without experience, there won't be any success and because of this, we do not see custom of others.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyད་ང་བཅས་རའི་ ལུགས་སྲོལ་ ཕ་མ་བཟང་པོ་གིས་ བཀའ་རྒྱ་ལྟར་དུ་སྦེ་ར་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ ག་ཅི་ར་འབད་རུང་ གྱོན་ཆ་ར་འབད་རུང་འདྲ་ ག་ཅི་ར་འབད་རུང་འདྲ་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ལམ་ལུགས་སྲོལ་ར་འབད་རུང་འདྲ། གུས་ཞབས་ར་འབད་རུང་འདྲ།Our custom, according to the advice of our parents, whatever we do, be it in regard to dress, custom, courtesy,
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyབཟའ་བཅའ་འགྲོ་གསུམ་ར་འབད་རུང་འདྲ། བརྡ་དོན་སྤྲོད་ལེན་ར་འབད་རུང་འདྲ། ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ ཆ་མཉམ་ཕ་མ་བཟང་པོའི་ བསླབ་བྱ་ལྟར་དུ་སྦེ་ར་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ ཕྱག་ཞུཝ་མས་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།general etiquette and information and communication, all we follow as per the advice of our respectable parents.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyདང་ཕུ་ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ མི་རྗེ་གོང་ས་ཨོ་རྒྱན་དབང་ཕྱུག་གི་ ངོ་བསྒང་ལས་ཡར་ར་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ཕམ་ཚུ་གིས་ དང་ཕུ་ལས་ ཁོང་རའི་ བཀབ་ནེ་ཕབ་ནི་ལས་ རྐངམ་སྤོ་ཐངས་ དེ་ལས་ གུས་ཞབས་འབད་ནི་ཕར་ ཞུ་ནིའི་རིགས།During the time of His excellency Gongsa Ugyen Wangchuck, our parents right from old times, in regard to lowering of Kabney(scarf worn by Bhutanese men on formal occasions), movement of legs then to respect others and solicit, all these types,
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyསྔོན་ཕ་མ་བཟང་པོ་ཚུ་གིས་ར་ ཁོང་གི་ བསླབ་བྱ་ཅིག་ ཕམ་ཚུ་གིས་ རག་རོག་ཅིག་ ལྷབ་སྟེ་ར་ སྡོད་ནུག་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།had been practiced and learnt a bit on such valuable advices by our respectable parents since long time ago
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ལམ་ལུགས་སྲོལ་ར་འབད་རུང་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ཆོ་ག་ར་འབད་རུང་འདྲ། ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ལོ་མཆོད་ར་འབད་རུང་འདྲ། ག་ཅི་འབད་རུང་ དང་ཕུའི་ཕམ་ཚུ་དང་འཁྲིལ་ཏེ་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ ལག་ལེན་འཐབ་དོ་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།Be our customs, religious performance or annual ritual, whatever we do, we follow according to the practice of our parents.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyད་ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ གཉེན་གྱི་སྐོར་ལས་འབད་རུང་ ད་ཅི་གོང་ལུ་ ཞུ་དོ་བཟུམ་སྦེ་ གཉེན་རྒྱ་དང་བོད་ཡང་དགོ། དགྲ་ཐབ་ཀྱི་རྩ་བ་ཡང་མི་ཤོང་ཟེར་ སླབ་མིའི་དོན་དག་ངོ་མ་ ག་དེ་སྦེ་ཨིན་ན་ཟེར་ ཞུ་བ་ཅིན།Regarding our marriage too, as mentioned earlier, ''If it is a marriage we accept either Indians or Tibetans but enemies cannot be accommodated even it is near the oven''. The main reason for saying this is that,
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyད་ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ རྨགཔ་སྦེ་འཁྱིད་འགྱོ་མི་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ བློན་པོ་དགའ་ར་སྟོང་ཕྲག་(དགར་ར་སྟོང་བཙན)ཟེར་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་དང་པ་ལུ་ བར་ན་བློ་སླབ་མི་སྦེ་ཐོན་མས་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།when we escort bridegroom, the mediator (known as Minister Gara Tongtshen) firstly get in between for negotiation.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyདཔེ་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ ང་ར་བཟུམ་ཅིག་ཨིན་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས། ང་གིས་ཡང་ འདི་བཟུམ་ལག་ལེན་འཐབ་དོ་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན།For example, it is like me. I too enforce the same.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyདེ་འབདཝ་ད་ སྔོན་ཕམ་བཟང་པོའི་ བསླབ་བྱ་ལྟར་དུ་སྦེ་ར་ ད་ལ་དོན་གྲུབ་ལ་ ཆུ་མ་ར་ད་རང་གི་ དཔེ་དང་སྲོལ་བཟུམ་ཅིག་སྦེ་ར་ བསླབ་བྱ་གི་འཐད་ལུ་ལྷོདཔ་ད་ དེ་སྦེ་སླབ་དོ་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།However, according to advice of respectable parents, ''Success of work depends on one's habits of doing work''. It is how we say regarding the advices.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyདེ་ལས་ ཕམ་ལུ་ ཕར་བཅོལ་རུང་ དེ་སྦེ་ར་བཅོལ་དོ་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས། བུ་གི་རྩ་བོ་གི་ཁ་ཐུག་ལས་ བློན་པོ་ང་ཐོན་ ཕམ་ཁོ་ར་ངོ་མ་སྦེ་ར་ཐོན་འོང་། བུམོ་ལུ་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ དྲི་བ་གནམ་མེད་ས་མེད་མི་འདྲི་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།Similarly during negotiation with the parents we are doing the same. I come out as Minister (mediator) from a boy side, while parents comes out in person. We don't ask much question to girl.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyབུམོ་ལུ་ འདྲི་བ་མའདྲིབའི་ ཁུངས་ག་ཅི་སྨོ་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ བུམོ་ཟེར་མི་འདི་ ཕམ་གི་ལག་པ་ལུ་ཨིན་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།The reason for not asking questions to girl is that she is under the control of parents.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyཕམ་གིས་ རྨགཔ་ལུ་རྩིས་སྤྲོདཔ་ད་ལུ་ རྨགཔ་དང་ ང་གིས་སྦེ་ རུབ་ཞིནམ་ལས་ འཁྱིད་འགྱོ་དགོཔ་ཨིན་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།When parents handover the bride to bridegroom, with the help of bridegroom and me must jointly escort her.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyབུམོ་གིས་ ཐག་རང་བཅད་མོ་ར་གིས་སྦེ་འགྱོ་ནིའི་ ནཱ་ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ལམ་ལུགས་སྲོལ་ཅིག་མེད་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།The girl has no right to take decision to go alone. We don't have such culture.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyརེ་རེ་གཉིས་གཉིས་འགྱོ་མི་ཚུ་ལུ་ཡང་ ནཱ་ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ གནམ་མེད་ས་མེད་ཁ་བཏང་འོང་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།We would blame those few girls who go themselves.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyབར་ན་མི་འཛོམས་དཔང་བཅས། བྱ་འཛོམས་པྲུརཌ་མ་མེད་པའི་མི་གིས་ ཐག་རང་བཅད་འབདཝ་མས་ ནངས་པ་གནངས་ཚེ་ དཀའ་ངལ་འབྱུང་སྟེ་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ བར་ན་བློ་སླབ་ནིའི་ལམ་ཡང་ ག་ཏེ་ཡང་མི་འོང་ཟེར།If the decision is taken without a witness and formal gatherings, later when problem erupts there is way to come in between to solve it.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ཕ་མ་བཟང་པོ་གིས་ཡང་ དེ་སྦེ་གསུང་ནི་ཡོད་ལགས། ང་བཅས་ ད་ལྟོ་ ལོ་ན་གཞོནམ་འབད་རུང་འདྲ། ཧ་ལམ་རྒས་ཤོས་བར་མ་འབད་རུང་འདྲ།Our respectable parents used to advice like that. When we are young, be it youth or almost adulthood,
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ ལག་ལེན་འདི་རང་འཐབ་དོ་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས། ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ལམ་ལུགས་སྲོལ་ཟེར་མི་འདི་ ཨིན་ཅི་མིན་ཅི་ རྒྱ་གི་ལུགས་སྲོལ་ཨིན་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།We are following such custom. Our custom, is by all means it is an Indian culture.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ ནཱ་ལས་ ཀྲཱུང་མ་(དར)ཟེར་བཏགས་དོ་ལགས། དེ་བསྒང་ཀྲཱུང་མ་བཏགསཔ་ད་ ང་བཅས་ལུ་ བློ་ཅིག་ཡོད་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ལགས།We used to give amulet. While giving amulet they we have a words to say.
- ཞིབ་འཚོལ་པ་ཡེ་ཤེས་དབང་ཕྱུག་ Researcher Yeshi Wangchukཀྲུང་མ་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ ག་ཅི་ག་ཅི་ར་བཏགས་འོང་ག་ལགས?What type of amulet will be given?
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyཀྲཱུང་མ་ཟེར་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ དང་ཕུའི་ཅ་ལ་བཏགས་ནི་ཡོད། ཐིང་ཁབ་འདྲཝ་ གའུ་འདྲཝ་ དེ་ལས་ ཏི་རུ་ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ བུམོ་ལུ་ཅ་ལ་ཅིག་བྱིན་འོང་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།Amulet means we give away ancient things such as brooch (Thingkhap), locket and then money. We give one such thing to a girl (bride).
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyནཱ་ལས་ ཕ་མ་གི་ཁ་ཐུག་ལས་ ཏི་རུ་ཕྱམ་ཕྱིམ་རེ་ནཱ་ལས་བསྡུ། ཐུགས་འབབ་(སེམས་དང་འཁྲིལ?)ལྟར་དུ་སྦེ་ རོགས་ཕམ་གིས་ཡང་གནང་འོང་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས།Parents on both side gather some money to give away according to their willingness.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyདེ་ལས་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ ཀྲཱུང་མ་བཏགས་དགོ་པའི་ རྒྱུ་མཚན་ག་ཅི་ཨིན་ན་ཟེར་ ཞུ་བ་ཅིན་ ད་ང་བཅས་ཁེངས་པ་གིས་ ཀྲཱུང་མ་ཟེར་ སླབ་མས་ལགས།Then the reason for giving away amulet is that we khengpa call it as sungma(amulet).
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyད་རོགས་སྔ་ལོང་མེ་ལོང་གིས་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ གཟུགས་དམར་ཆ་གི་སྦྱང་བ་?ཟེར་ སླབ་མས་ལགས། ཁྲིམས་ཡིག་ནང་ལུ་ ད་ཞུ་སྟེ་འབད་བ་ཅིན།In ngalong (dialect of western Bhutan) they call it as bloody red body exercise (gift from parents of bride). As per law book.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyདེ་ལས་ ག་ཅི་སྦེ་ ཀྲཱུང་མ་བཏགས་དགོ་པའི་ཁུངས་དང་ དམིགས་ཡུལ་ག་ཅི་སྦེ་སྨོ་ཟེར་ ཞུ་བ་ཅིན། ང་བཅས་ག་གིས་ཡང་ཤེས་ཅི་ཟེར་ ཀྲཱུང་མ་བཏགསཔ་ད་ སྟེང་ལྷ་གིས་ཡང་མཁྱེན་ཡི་ཟེར།The rationale and objective of giving amulet is to declare that we all have known and even the gods above have also knew it,
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyཁྱོད་གཉིས་གཉེན་ཨིན་ཟེར་ འོག་ཀླུ་གིས་ཡང་མཁྱེན་ཡི། བར་བཙན་གྱིས་ཡང་མཁྱེན་ཡི་ཟེར་ ད་ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ཉེ་བ་མཐོང་བ་ཕམ་བུ་གཞི་ཚུ་གིས་ ག་ར་གིས་ཤེས་ཅི་སྨ་རེ།The nagas of underworld and deities of midworld has known you two as married couple. Now our parents, relatives, cousins and neigbhorhood had all known.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyཁྱོད་གཉིས་དགྲ་མེན་ ད་གཉེན་ཨིན་ཟེར་ གཉེན་སྦྲགས་པའི་དགྲ་མིན་ད་ཁྱོད་གཉིས་ཟེར་ ད་ཁྱོད་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་སྦེ་ ད་ཡར་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལུ་མཆོད་པ་ ཁྱོད་གཉིས་བསྡོམས་ཞིནམ་ན་ཕུལ་ནི་ཨིན།''You two are not enemies but a couple. The arranged marriage is not an enemy. Now together you two have to make an offering to the precious gem.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyབར་ཚེས་བཅུའི་རྩ་བོ་བཟུང་རུང་ ཁྱོད་གཉིས་རུབ་སྟེ་བཟུང་ནི་ཨིན། མར་སྦྱིན་པ་བཏང་རུང་ ཁྱོད་གཉིས་བསྡོམས་ཞིནམ་ན་ སྦྱིན་པ་བཏང་ནི་ཨིན་སྨ་རེ་ཟེར།''Even if you happened to be the patron of annual festival, you must jointly perform it. Even if you offer alms to the poor, together you must give it away''.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyགཡས་དུ་བུ་བསྐོར་ཏེ་འབད་རུང་ གཡོན་དུ་བུ་མོའི་བསྐོར་ཏེ་འབད་རུང་ འབྲུག་རྒྱལ་ཁབ་ནང་ ཁྱོད་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་བསྡོམས་ཞིནམ་ལས་ ད་ཕོ་གིས་ སླབ་མི་ལུ་ མོ་གིས་ཉན། མོ་གིས་སླབ་མི་ལུ་ ཕོ་གིས་ཉན་ཏེ།Even if boys surround you from rights and girls from left, in Bhutan, you two jointly have to take decision. Wife should listen to husband and husband should listen to what wife said.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyཁྱོད་གཉིས་ཀྱི་ སེམས་ཟེར་མི་འདི་ གཅིག་ལུ་བཞག་དགོ་ཟེར་ སོ་སོར་མེན་སྨ་རེ་ཟེར་ ཡར་ལམ་ལྟག་གི་མེ་ཏོག་སེརཔོ་འཚོལ་བའི་ལོ། མར་ལམ་འོག་གི་ མེ་ཏོག་སེརཔོ་འཚོལ་བའི་ལོ་ཟེར་མི་འདི་ ཁྱོད་གཉིས་ལས་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་མི་ཉན་ཟེར།Your mind setting should be same, not different. You should avoid the search of yellow flower above and below the road (extra affairs). We will not tolerate extra marital affairs.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyང་བཅས་ ཕམ་བཟང་པོའི་བསླབ་བྱ་ཡང་ དེ་སྦེ་ཡོད་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས། ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ ད་ལྟོ་ལག་ལེན་ཡང་ འདི་ར་འཐབ་དོ་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན།Our respectable parent's advice exists like this and we even follow it today.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyདེའི་ནང་དོན་ཉིད་ལས་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ ད་ཁོ་ར་རྩིས་སྤྲོད་པའི་སྐབས་ལུ་ ཕམ་གི་ བསླབ་བྱ་ཅིག་ཡང་ཡོད་ལགས། ནཱ་ལས་ ཕམ་(ཨཔ་རིན་ཆེན་དཔལ་འབྱོར་)གྱི་ཁ་ཐུག་ལས་ གསལ་བཤད་ཅིག་གནང་འོང་།Of all those, while handing over the bride to the bridegroom, parents has few advice to give and they begin to give speech.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyངེའི་ཁ་ཐུག་ལས་ ད་རུང་ ཚིག་གཅིག་དང་གཉིས་དེ་ཅིག་ཡོད་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས། ད་གཉེན་གྱི་འཐད་ལུ་ལྷོདཔ་ད་ གནམ་མེད་ས་མེད་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ དཔེ་དང་སྦྲགས་ཏེ་ཞུ་བ་ཅིན།''On my behalf, I have few words to say''. In regard to marriage, if we cite an example.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyརྡོ་དང་ས་ཟེར་མི་ གཅིག་ཁར་སྡོད་དགོ་ཟེར་ ཁྱོད་གཉིས་ཀྱི་གཉེན་འབད་རུང་ ད་ཕོའི་གུ་ལུ་སྟག་ཨིན། མོའི་གུ་ལུ་ གླང་ཨིན་སྨ་རེ་ཟེར་ ཡར་ལོ་མར་ལོ་ཟེར་ ཁྱོད་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་ གནམ་མེད་ས་མེད་ སླབ་མི་ཆོག།stone and soil should stay together and same as that you two being married, on husband it's like tiger and for wife it's like ox. You two are not allowed to complain much.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ རྒྱས་ཤིང་རྒྱསཔ་སྦེ་ ཁོང་རྨགཔ་དང་ བུམོ་ལུ་ སླབ་འོང་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས། དེ་ལས་ ཁོང་གཉིས་ལུ་ སླབ་པ་གིས་མ་ཚད་ ད་ཅི་གོང་ལུ་ ཞུ་དོ་བཟུམ་སྦེ་ ཅ་ལ་སྦེ་ ཁྱོད་གཉིས་ ལཱ་འབད་བའི་སྐབས་ འ་ནཱི་ལག་ལེན་འཐབ་སྟེ་ བཟའ་ཤིག་འཐུང་ཤིག་ཟེར།We tell in detail to both bridegroom and bride. Then not only telling to them as said earlier, things that we gave should be made use of it in your day to day activities.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyད་ཁྱོད་གཉིས་ སྐྱེསཝ་བུ་གཞི་དང་ འུ་སྡུག་ཉག་ཕྲ་འགྱོ་འོང་སྨ་རེ་ཟེར་ ད་ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ བསླབ་བྱ་དེ་སྦེ་ཡོད་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན་ལགས་གསོལ་འདེབས།Now you two will have family and will face hardship. We have this advice.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyད་ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ཨཔ་དང་ཨའི་གི་ ཁ་ཐུག་ལས་འབད་དེ་འབད་རུང་ ད་ཁྱོད་གཉིས་ འ་ནཱི་ ཁྱིམ་ནང་ལྷོད་པའི་ཉིན་མ་ལས་ ཁྱོད་གཉིས་ལུ་ ངེའི་ཕ་ཚབ་ཀྱི་བུ་ཨིན་སྨ་རེ་ཟེར། གཡག་ཚབ་ཀྱི་ཀོཝ་ཨིན་ཟེར་ ཨཔ་གི་ཚབ་བུ་ཨིན་ཟེར།From our parent's side, now you two after arriving in this house, you should be there instead of me and like skin place of yak.
- ཀུན་བཟང་འཕྲིན་ལས་ Kuenzang Thinleyད་གཡག་ཤི་མི་གི་ ཚབ་པགས་ཀོ་ཨིན་སྨ་རེ་ཟེར་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ རྩིས་སྤྲོད་ལེན་འབད་བའི་ཟེར་ ཞུ་ནི་ཨིན། ང་གིས་ འཁྱིད་འགྱོ་བའི་ཤུལ་ལུ་ ཕར་ཁྱིམ་ནང་ལྷོད་ཞིནམ་ལས།Now instead of death yak, we are handing over its skin. After having taken by me, upon reaching home,
