Dokami from Nobgang village sings a long-life prayer originally composed for Gyelwa Shakya Rinchen (1710-1759), the 9th Jé Khenpo of Bhutan's central monastic body. Dokami presents this popular song along with the simple steps of its accompanying dance. Through the establishment of Nobgang Tsuklhakhang, Gyelwa Shakya Rinchen also founded Nobgang Village. 

སྤུ་ན་ཁ་ནོརཔ་སྒང་ལས་ རྡོ་བཀག་མི་གིས་ ཞབས་བརྟན་གདངས་འཐེན་ ལེའུ་དང་བཅསཔ་སྦེ་ཕུལ་མི་འདི་ རྗེ་རྒྱལ་བ་ཤཱཀྱ་རིན་ཆེན་གྱི་ཞབས་བརྟན་ཕུལཝ་ཨིན་མས། དེ་སྦེ་ ཞབས་བརྟན་ཕུལ་དགོ་མི་འདི་ བླམ་དང་དཔོན་ སྤྱིར་བསྟན་འགྲོ་ལུ་ཕན་ཐོགས་ཅན་གྱི་མི་ སྐུ་ཆེནམོ་ཚུ་ སྐུ་ཚེ་ཞབས་པད་བརྟན་ཅིང་ འགྲོ་དོན་ཕྲིན་ལས་ནམ་མཁའ་དང་མཉམ་པར་སྐྱོང་སྟེ་བཞུགས་ནི་གི་དོན་ལུ་སྦེ་ཕུལཝ་ཨིན། ད་ལྟོ་ རྡོ་བཀག་མི་གིས་ཞབས་བརྟན་ཕུལ་སའི་ཁྱིམ་འདི་ རྗེ་ཕྲིན་ལས་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ཀྱི་གཟིམ་ཅུང་ནང་ཨིན་མས། དེ་སྦེ་ ཁོ་གིས་ཞབས་བརྟན་ཕུལ་མི་དེ་ཡང་ རྗེ་ཕྲིན་ལས་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ཀྱི་བཀའ་བཞིན་དུ་ ཕུལ་ཕུལཝ་ཨིན་ཟེར་ བཤདཔ་ཨིན་པས།

    ང་བཅས་ར་ཏེ་ ཨིན་ཡང་ནཱ་ རྗེ་གི་གཟིམ་ཅུང་ནང་ར་ཨིན་པས་ལགས།
    So, we are here in Je's residence.

    ཏེ་ནཱ་ལས་ བཀའ་གནངམ་བཞིན་དུ་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ རྗེ་འཕྲིན་ལས་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ཀྱི་ ནཱ་ཁོའི་གཟིམ་ཅུང་ནང་སྦེ་ཏེ་ ང་བཅས་ ནཱ་འབོ་འབད་སྦེ་
    We were called by Je Thinley Lhendup in his house, as ordered

    ཏེ་དབའེ་ ད་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ ཞབས་བརྟན་ཅིག་ ལེགས་ཤོམ་སྦེ་ཕུལ་ཤིག་ རྒྱལ་བ་ཤཱཀྱ་གི་ཞབས་བརྟན་དེ་ ཏེ་ལེགས་ཤོམ་སྦེ་ ཕུལ་ཟེརཝ་ད་ ཏེ་རྗེ་ཁོ་ར་ ཨིན་ཅི་མིན་ཅི་ དང་པ་ཁོང་རའི་ རྩ་བའི་བླམ་ཡང་ཨིན་ཏེ།
    he asked us to recite a prayer for stability of life of Gyalwa Shacha. since Je was his root guru.

    ཏེ་ གཉིས་པ་ལུ་ རྒྱལ་བ་ཤཱཀྱ་གི་ སྐུ་སྐྱེས་ངོ་མ་ར་ཨིན་པས་ལགས་ ང་བཅས་རྗེ་འཕྲིན་ལས་ལྷུན་གྲུབ། ཏེ་འ་ནཱེ་ འབད་ཞིནམ་ལས་ རྗེ་གིས་ ཧེ་མ་ར་ སྐུ་ཐང་དང་ ཨ་ནཱེ་ཚུ་ ལེགས་ཤོམ་སྦེ་ བཏོན།
    secondly, Je Thinley Lhendup was Gyalwa Shacha's real re-incarnation and then he took out the religious painted scroll.

    ད་ཕ་འདི་བླ་མ་་རྣམས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །དབུས་ཕྱོགས་དགའ་ལྡན་ཞིང་ན་རྡོ་རྗེ་བྲག །ཟེར་མི་འདི་ ཨ་ཡི་ཨིན་ཟེར།
    and then showed us that, this one is Dorjidrag, the central land of happiness, where we bow to every lamas

    གཙང་གི་དབུས་ན་དཔལ་ལྡན་རྒྱ་མཚོ་རྗེ་འདི་ ཨ་ནཱི་ཨིན་ཟེར། ལྷོ་ལྗོངས་ཉམས་མེད་ཤཱཀྱ་རིན་ཆེན་ཞབས་ཟེར་མི་འདི་ འ་ནཱི་ཨིན་ཟེར།
    This is Pelden Jamtsho from central Tsang. this one is Shacha Rinchen of the Sourthern Land.

    ཏེ་ཕྱག་གིས་ལེགས་ཤོམ་སྦེ་ ནཱ་སྟོན་གནང་འབད་སྦེ་འབད་ཞིནམ་ལས་ ད་ཁྱོད་ འ་ནཱི་གི་ ཞབས་བརྟན་འདི་ འགྱུར་བ་མེད་པར་ལེགས་ཤོམ་སྦེ་ ཏེ་ད་ང་ལུ་ སྤྱན་འབུལ་ཕུལ་དགོ་ཟེར་ བཀའ་གནངམ་ལས་ ཏེ་དེ་ལས་ ང་གིས་ཏེ་ ཕུལ་ཕུལཝ་ཨིན་ལགས།
    and he directed everything on the scroll with his hand properly and said that I have to recite it very well without any changes.

    སྭོ་ཡ་ལ་་་་ཕ་འདི་བླ་མ་རྣམས་ལ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །
    soo.....ya....la..... Where we bow to all lamas,

    དབུས་ཕྱོགས་དགའ་ལྡན་ཞིང་ན་རྡོ་རྗེ་བྲག །རྡོ་རྗེ་བྲག
    DorjiDrag, the central land of happiness

    སྭོ་ཡ་ཨོ་མོ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུཾ། །
    so ya ong mo mani pema hong
  • རྡོ་བཀག་མི། Dokami
    ཕ་འདི་བླ་མ་རྣམས་ལ་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆིས། །སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆིས།
    To all the lamas, I seek refuge

    གཙང་གི་དབུས་ན་དཔལ་ལྡན་ལ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་རྗེ། །
    Pelden Jamtsho from the central of tsang
  • རྡོ་བཀག་མི། Dokami
    ལྷོ་ལྗོངས་ཉམས་མེད་ཤཱཀྱ་རིན་ཆེན་ཞབས། །རིན་ཆེན་ཞབས།
    Shacha Rinchen from the southern land
  • རྡོ་བཀག་མི། Dokami
    སྭོ་ཡ་ཨོ་མོ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུཾ། །
    So ya Omo Ma ni pemi hung
  • རྡོ་བཀག་མི། Dokami
    ཕ་འདི་བླ་མ་རྣམས་ལ་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆིས། །སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆིས།
    I seek refuge in all the lama
  • རྡོ་བཀག་མི། Dokami
    སྐུ་གསུམ་དབྱེར་མེད་ངོ་བོ་ལ་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཆང་། །
    His body, mind and speech, differs not from Dorjichang
  • རྡོ་བཀག་མི། Dokami
    དེ་ནས་བཟུང་སྟེ་བྱང་ཆུབ་ལ་མ་ཐོབ་བར། །
    From this point, until I don't attain enlightenment
  • རྡོ་བཀག་མི། Dokami
    སྭོ་ཡ་ཨོ་མོ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུཾ། །
    so ya omo ma ni pemi hung
  • རྡོ་བཀག་མི། Dokami
    ཕ་འདི་བླ་མ་རྣམས་ལ་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆིས། །སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆིས།
    I seek refuge to all the lamas
  • རྡོ་བཀག་མི། Dokami
    མོས་གུས་གདུང་ཤུགས་ཆེན་པོའི་གསོལ་བཏབ་བགྱི། །
    with Strong devotion, I pray for you
  • རྡོ་བཀག་མི། Dokami
    བདག་སོགས་འགྲོ་རྣམས་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ལ་གཟུང་དུ་གསོལ། །གཟུང་དུ་གསོལ།
    May your grace always be upon us.
  • རྡོ་བཀག་མི། Dokami
    སྭོ་ཡ་ཨོ་མོ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུཾ། །
    so ya omo mani pemi hung.
  • རྡོ་བཀག་མི། Dokami
    ཕ་འདི་བླ་མ་རྣམས་ལ་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆིས། །སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆིས།
    to all the lamas, I seek refuge.
  • རྡོ་བཀག་མི། Dokami
    ཏེ་ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ ཨ་ནཱི་བསྐོར་ར་རྐྱབ་ གསུང་ཡང་ཨོ་མོ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུཾ། །ཕ་འདི་བླ་མ་རྣམས་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆིས། །ཟེར་འབདཝ་ད་
    and then We circumambulate this, with the verse, Su ya omo mani pemi hung. (ཕ་འདི་བླ་མ་རྣམས་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆིས།)

    ཏེ་ང་གིས་ ནཱ་ལས་ཕར་ལུ་ པད་སྐོར་སྒྱིར་འབདཝ་ད་
    and then I go around this
  • རྡོ་བཀག་མི། Dokami
    མ་དང་བུ་ལས་ར་ རྗེ་ཡ་བཞུགས་ད་ ཏེ་ངེ་ པད་བསྐོརམ་གྱི་བསྡོམས་འདི་ ཡར་ལས་ཚང་སོང་ཞིནམ་ལས་ རྗེ་གིས་དབའེ་ དེ་སྦེ་མེན་ ཏེ་གསུང་ཡང་ཨོ་མོ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུཾ། །ཕ་འདི་བླ་མ་རྣམས་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆིས། །ཟེརཝ་ད་
    but I could never complete it infront of him... so he says that when I am done with that verse

    ཏེ་ང་འདི་འཕྲང་ར་འཕྲང་དགོ། ཕ་བླ་མ་རྣམས་ལ་ སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆིས། །ཟེརཝ་ད་ ཏེ་ང་འཕྲང་འདི་གིས་སྦེ་ རྒྱལ་བ་ཤཱཀྱ་ ང་ ང་ཨིནམ་བཟོ་དེ་གིས་སྦེ་ ཏེ་ཁྱོད་ང་འཕྲང་སྟེ་གིས་སྦེ་ཕུལ་དགོ་ཟེར།
    I should make it right in front of him, thinking him to be Je Shacha Rinchen.

    ཏེ་ཨ་ནཱི་ ཟུར་ཁ་ལས་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ མ་ད་པུ་ལས་མི་བཏུབ་ཟེར་ འབད་བའི་ཤུན་ ཏེ་ང་གིས་ཡང་ གདངས་འདི་ རྒྱང་ཨ་ཙི་ ཕར་བསྣར་བཞག
    so, completing the round, at the side wasn't good, therefore I stretched the tune

    མར་ལས་རྐངམ་འདི་ ཚ་ངེར་བཏོན་བསྒྱིར་ཞིནམ་ན་སྦེ་ ཏེ་སྐུ་མདུན་ཞལ་མཇལ་ཚུགསཔ་སྦེ་ར་ ཏེ་འ་ནཱེ་སྦེ་ ལེགས་ཤོམ་སྦེ་ འཕྲང་ཕུལ་ཡི་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི་ལགས། ་
    took fast leaps with my feet and took the round speedily, so that I make it right infront of him.
