Local people from Chungkha village in Chukha District perform the boedra song “The Land of India” (Gyagar Ling) during village’s annual archery contest. The song talks about the qualities of the archer and items related to archery, such as the target, the bow, the arrow, the arrow’s feather, the arrowhead, and so forth. In all regions of the country, a few standard songs related to archery can be commonly heard; this particular song does not seem to be part of that repertoire. In the video, the dancers also give signs that they are not very familiar with the lyrics; in the middle of the song they stop dancing and leave the area.
