Sempa from Richanglu village in Martshala gewog, in Samdrup Jongkhar sings a unique boedra song entitled “Yarla Lamai Gungtey,” which means “The Lama’s High Sky.” The song was dedicated to the lama, who teaches the dharma. He says this song is performed during the annual household festival in the village, and that he learned it from village elders.
