Rice is believed to naturally grow from a “field of rock” where Drukpa Kuenley planted it a few centuries ago. Such field is located between Chimilhakhang and the present day Khuruthang. According to local beliefs, rice still grows there seasonally, and hays can be found around the field. In the past, the community visited the field with all the necessary equipment for the paddy plantation, but nowadays this practice is lost.
