Sergi from Yurung village sings a Khoray song narrating her old age and how she suffered during childhood, coming from a poor background. The song is in Tshanglakha (Sharchop) and composed a long time ago, though its origins are unknown. The culture of singing a Khoray song is most popular in eastern Bhutan (Pemagatshel and Trashigang in particular). They sing Khoray songs when they feel bored, sad or tired while working in the field. Khoray songs are mostly emotional and sung by the old people of the village.

- གསེར་གུས་ Sergiཡ་ཟླ་བ་ནུབ་ཀ་ཡ་དེ་ལ་ས་ཁོ་རེད། །ཡ་ཟླ་བ་འདྲན་འདྲ་མ་ལ་ས་ཁོ་རེད། ། ཡ་ཟླ་བ་ནུབ་ལུ་ཡ་འགྱོཝ་ད་ས་ཁོ་རེད། །ཡ་ཟླ་བ་འདྲན་འདྲ་མིན་འདུག་ས་ཁོ་རེད། །When moon moves to the west, sa khoray! The moon is not equal (same), sa khoray!
- གསེར་གུས་ Sergiཡ་ཨ་མའི་གཡུ་རུང་ཡ་བཟའ་མོས་ས་ཁོ་རེད། །ཡ་ཤོ་ནང་ཕེན་ཐཱན་བགྱངས་ཅ་ས་ཁོ་རེད། ། ཡ་ཨ་མའི་གཡུ་རུང་ཡ་བཟའ་མོས་ས་ཁོ་རེད། །ཡ་སེམས་དགའ་སྟེ་འཐེན་དོ་ས་ཁོ་རེད། །Mother gave birth to me in Yurung, sa khoray! Singing in happiness, sa khoray!
