The Jewel Land of China (Dzo. sa rgya nag nor bu ri) is a very old and popular song that belongs to the bodra musical genre. Its refrain says that on the other side of the “jewel land of China” there is a hermitage where lama dwells; a fortress where a ruler lives; and a village that is the abode of parents. The lyrics to this song differ from region to region in Bhutan due to the people’s different ways of speaking and thinking. Sangay sings in this video the version from her own region, which mention the name of her village, Trashi Yangtse in Rejung. It may differ from the most usual versions, but the lyrics and the tune have the same basis.
