This is a song from the biography of Ashi Nangsa, a beautiful and charming ordinary woman who marries a king and becomes the queen of Tibet. The lyrics to this song are in the voice of a spiritual figure who instruct Ashi Nangsa to practice the Dharma. The lyrics say, for instance: “Nangsa, your physical form is like a rainbow. Rainbows lack essence, even if they have beauty. It is time for you to encounter the essence of Dharma.” Ashi Nangsa gives birth to the king’s son while she is being tormented by her sister-in-law. She finally runs away following her master in order to practice the Dharma. She becomes an awakened female practitioner.
